New Grower First Grow Ever (NY)

Looking good man! I just got this soil moisture meter to take guesswork out of watering on advice from one of the resident experts. 15$ Amazon. Soil takes longer to dry than you’d think lol. Someone else said here they can survive a drought but not a flood. Stuck to me.View attachment 1448069
I’ll check these out! How deep do you have to stick them in? You ever worry about damaging roots? Appreciate the recommendation man

im going 50-75% down and watching meter as I go. Yeah I do worry about roots but not sure what I can do about it lol. Hopefully my worms will help me out down there

Day 19: Watered them today. A bit less than I did last time. Also got the oscillating fan in there. Everything seems pretty dialed in! Plan on doing some light LST this weekend.

Jesus Christ it looks like I may have overwatered again. Only one out of the two plants are droopy though. I did like 1/2 - 3/4 of a spray bottle each. And that was the first watering in 4 days. Ooooh boy. I’ll get it down eventually…maybe!

Leave it completely alone and order the moisture meter. Havent watered my soil in 3 days and it’s super moist. Have you weighed dry and wet? Helps also. 1/2-3/4 spray bottle is a lot of water.

Less is more. Spray alittle bit everyday instead of all at one time. Keep the soil moist. Not saturated. Its tuff. Overwatering is the easiest thing to do. But the soil holds water for a long time. And the plants dont really use much water till they get older. I go 2 week sometimes more with only spraying the top soil adding a half cup or so around the plant. Every so often.

Im not a scientist for sure but I’m going with the assumption that too much humidity in the air keeps the plant from fully pulling its moisture from the soil which is where your nutes are anyways. I think that could lead to being dry to your knuckle but still soaked 1/2 way down the pot. That’s what my meter tells me anyways and it matches my weights when it said it was almost “dry” so I’m confident in it. It’s a must have

its something that just has to be learned by you. We all do it differently adapt to our own ways as will you too but we will get you on the right track faster then with no help you will have no problem here soon I bet. Next thing you know you will be doing what we are with you to others cause you did it already . We all did lol. Keep your head up. You will get it.

Day20: Appreciate the support and advice! Like I said before, watered yesterday — one of them was overwatered. First one looks pretty good! Don’t think I should LST til they recover, no? Got some more LST research to do…
