New Grower First Grow Ever (NY)

Day 18: Happy 420! Humidifier is working perfectly. RH sitting between 50-60%, temps mid 70s. Soil felt a bit dry, but to err on the side of caution — going to wait til tomorrow after work to water (since I’ve been overwatering).

I think I’m going to give LST a go in the next few days or so. I have plant ties. Just need to put a few holes in the sides of the fabric pot to tie them down.
If you guys see anything I’m doing wrong, or have any more tips, please let me know. Appreciate the help so far!

:yeahthat:

I would not. i try not to water to my soil to runoff. IF i do it's less <10% :toke:

How far away is your light? dimmer setting? My plants droop at lights on and off. I also noticed i was giving them to much light making them droop. Look into Photone App. or a par meter if you can afford it. I say this because your plants look to be stacking pretty tight. Looking good :d5:. My Anvils Droop a lot could be strain

my anvil drooped when I watered it to. I think its the strain. i let it go probably to long once to see and it dropped no matter what so I just kept my schedule with it and now with it being close to done and no fan leaves really left it doesn’t droop any more when I water it lol.

I like binder clips you can move them around the bag as need be. :d5: :toke:

Totally agree with binder clips. Cheap, movable and totally reusable :headbang:

Never thought about using binder clips. I’ll give those a shot and if that doesn’t work, I’ll put some holes in the pots. Appreciate it! Do my plants look relatively healthy, or small for day 18?

Looking good man! I just got this soil moisture meter to take guesswork out of watering on advice from one of the resident experts. 15$ Amazon. Soil takes longer to dry than you’d think lol. Someone else said here they can survive a drought but not a flood. Stuck to me.

They’re in 5 gallon fabric pots. I now understand that they should only be getting like 1 cup of water each, but is it okay for the rest of the soil to dry out (heard that was bad)? Should I be spraying the surface or something?
If you have a lawn the clippings make a great soil topper to retain moisture on top. Helps me not overwater if I’m not looking at dry soil. Moisture meter does all the work.

I had a lot of safety pins handy but I also just slit holes with a razor blade for tie downs.
