Purple rain, purple rain!

DAY-42

Hey guys, been a little bit since my last update. Good and bad news.

As I've shown in past updates, 3 out of 4 plants are showing the purple colored phenotype coming through (Thanks Sweetseeds) *Fist bump*

So here are some pictures.


First up is the big girl, she is now coming in at 32" in height and showing great purple coming through the leaves. She's showing no real slowing of either developing bud sites or growing wide/tall. She's really turning out just fine.

And here is the sick girl, one of the two runts showing N-P-K issues which is my fault but I'm rocking with her till chop or flop. Thank you @Waira for help identifiying that in my other post.

Look at how frosty/hairy she is though! The smell after rubbing my finger on her purple top leaves my hand smelling like, what I can only describe as Fruit Loops cereal. It's really fantastic and something I've never smelled during my 10 years of smoking. Even as a medical card holder. So props to Sweetseeds for making a great strain.

49 Days

Quick update everyone!

These are some new pics of the big girl. She is now coming in at 34" and growing some very nicely purple colored colas. Two plants ended up stunted and the other ended up like this one. All in all it has been a fun learning process.

Just letting them ride out best as possible.

The light is tilted upwards to give the taller plants more room now but I believe the whole grow I had the lights just a tad too far from all them. Either that, or like other growers of this strain said, it's just a really tall strain. One person even saying it was the tallest auto they have grown. So I'm really not sure. But....

Distance from tall plants - around 12 inches

Distance from runts - around 17 inches

These distances varried throughout the grow but for the most part the light was 15-20 inches from the plants. Never closer.

Quick question everyone!

So here is one of the not so good looking runts I have been posting about. (STILL SUPER FROSTY)

My question is, can I take some of the really bent and cupped leaves off the plant? The ones that are clearly deformed and curling into the buds? If it would be a high risk of shocking the plant into further stuntage, then I would definetly like to avoid it.

My gut instinct is HELL NO but I couldn't find an answer anywhere from a web search or forum search. So figured I'd ask here.

She is 60 days from seedling tomorrow.

Are those leaves doing anything? Can they be chopped? Trimmed a bit?

I kind of want to sample a little somethin somethin too if ya know what I mean

Please let me know what you guys think. Or if you have any knowledge you want to kick towards my way.

Great job on your first grow!
Personally I don't take leaves off till they are dead, but I have a couple jars of flowers at all times. :smoking: She's your plant to do as you wish, I see peeps in here every now and then "accidentally" breaking off buds one way or the other. lol

Funny you say that, I was browsing the forums earlier and ran into someone who "accidentaly" knocked off a whole bud lol. Funny stuff.

Yea I really don't want to touch it but I'd like to see how her THC production is going. Maybe in a few days I will trim one or two leaves and see how she's turning out.

If people can take whole buds off their grow I'm sure one or two trimmings from a popcorn bud won't kill her lol.

Day 66-

Here are some updated close up pics and one main cola picture.

Looking to get some opinions on getting better macro shots. I'm having trouble figuring out the best lighting condition to take them in. Not sure if alot of light is good or bad. Or which type of light to put them under.
