Hey guys. Tryin to put together a stealth growbox. It's kinda new to me but here is a rough, real rough pic lol. If you see anything wrong please tell me. Its 42000 inches in volume. Really need suggestions on filters and what size fan to use with the filter as ive never had to deal with odor control before. Also I dunno if I should go 4in or 6in and if I need an intake fan to keep exhaust fan from burning up or if the negative pressure is enough for my intake. Carbon filters is all new to me so dont feel bad criticizing my box. I wanna do it right. Ill be glad to just copy your design if you have a box about the same dimensions as mine lol. Boc is 36inx18inx65i

Ok that pic is horrible. Box is 36in wide and 18in deep and 65in tall. Was gonna put filter on floor with an inline fan and use it as exhaust. Was just gonna cut the same size hole uptop for an intake with no fan there if I can. Trying to find that thread on here where they were talking about what fans size to use per cubic foot.

Sounds like the size of a wardrobe, attach carbon filter to fan in top corner. Pretty much always exhaust out the top, passive intake at the bottom will probably be sufficient. 450w refector series led would be awesome but I feel like it will be overkill, and you need a fan in the box for circulating the air inside.

I have a 600mmx600mx1400mm and I use a 300mm filter on a 100mm bathroom fan with a 150w hps and fan is running at a minimum but it is winter here. Good luck bruv, one thing I will warn you is the hardest thing with building a cabinet is light proofing it.

Its what I have for a light. It fits in there lol. Does make more sense to exhaust outa top to me cause thats where all the heat is, I was just copying what ive seen other folks do but I bet their pipes go out the top like you said and ige never noticed it. Good thing is cab I have is almost lightproof now. Was going to use the hvac metal tape to seal the few holes I have. Thanks man! I just dunno how much carbon the filter should have now. Bathroom fan is a good idea, cheap and shouldnt burn up. So it should be an adjustable speed? Ill put it on an adjustable switch or dimmer switch if I cant find one.

Natertots, I would definitely vent out of the top of of your box. I've read that you should exchange the air in your grow space four times an hour but personally I use a variable fan speed controller and adjust it depending on how much heat and humidity I want to evacuate from the grow space. You'll find all sorts of controllers on Amazon etc. I would use some type of inline fan instead of a bathroom fan. Cheap bathroom fans have a tendency to be noisy and become more so as they get old. Good luck on the design. :Sharing One:

Ended up ordering a 175 cfm inline fan and filter combo with 8ft of ducking and clamps for $109 bucks off ebay, shipping included. Was designed for hps lights but I dont think that should matter. Just waiting on on mail. Got tds and ph meters, maxi nutes and calmag, pots, rocks, rapid rooters, temp and humidity gauges, ph up n down, airstones, everything but lights and buckets coming in mail. Tell ya what, wasnt expecting that stuff to cost that much. Nice size hit when you have to buy it all at once. Spent like close to $300. Need couple buckets, airtube, and a small fan for the inside of cab and ill have everything. Still have to lightproof it too but ill do that after I get everything hooked up.

I've got a hundred dollar fan and filter. They work great. Check out USPlastics.com for buckets, bulkhead fittings, valves, couplings, tubing etc. They have 3.5, 5, 6 & 7 gal buckets that use the same covers and fit inside one another. Really useful if your growing hydro. I'd get an oscillating clip on fan for inside. I made the mistake of buying a fixed fan and can only blow it onto one plant at once.

Think I am gonna go that route with the fan. I dunno if I can fit more than one plant in there. Not sure if im gonna do a rdwc or just a bubbler or 2. Maybe some autos I can get 2 in there. First run im gonna do will be some seeds that was graciously gifted to me from chaos. They will be photos and they look bushy so will be good in a scrog I think. Gonna drop 2 here as soon as my stuff starts arriving in the mail and start a journal. Also been toying with the idea of putting like a clone chamber in there with some pvc pipes with 4 or 5 right angles to vent it and keep light from bottom out. Got almost 500 watts of cfls and sockets that im not useing lol. Still may use some with my led just to get more of a light mixture. Thanks for the plastic link! Going to check it out.

You can cram a whole lot of plants into a pretty small foot print. I'm going to try a mini sea of green this next grow. Peace
