New Grower First Ever grow

Just thought I would stop in and say hello. Being as how I've recently had surgery and had a lot of time off I decided to build a room and start my first ever attempt at growing.

I started with Auto's as I thought maybe it would be a good way to test the waters and see how it went. Maybe not the right way to start but I've always been the type to dive in over my head

Anyway, I thought I would share my experience and see if I could learn from a group of people who seem to know a lot more than others in my area.

Here's a photo I took couple hours ago. Plants are a little over 3 weeks

I started with Auto Fem seeds from Seed Madness
2 Afghan Mass
2 Northern Lights
2 Sweet Soma
2 Bubble Gum
2 Chocolate Skunk
2 Cheese Berry
1 Amnesia

I had a little loss but in all 9 strong plants and one that is starting really slow. Had one that started running taproot up and out and died, and one other seed that never germinated. So not bad in my opinion.

Hey ohgeemt and welcome to AFN!

I'm new here myself too. What sort of lights are you running? It seems like your plants might benefit from more or closer light. I say this because they seem a bit small for their age. For comparison here is a lowryder #2 I have been growing in soil under LED light when it was 21 days old:



a little more detailed info about your setup would help others diagnose any problems your babies might be having in order to help you get the most you can out of em. Best of luck I can't wait to see how they turn out. And since i accidentally attached it the second pic is of a chronic ryder at day 13 also under LED.

What kind of lighting are you using? They are looking real happy, Welcome!

Just moved from a single 54w t5 that was about 6" above plants. They are now sitting 18" under 2 600w mh set at 50%

Do you guys think I need to increase lighting? I'm currently running them for 20 hrs on 4 off.

See how they respond to the MH. I don't have experience with HID but I think with autos you probably could have moved them under the bigger lights around week 1 or 2. How hot is it in there? Also i love how different all the varieties look.

thanks Auto I too liked the idea of doing a few different and watching how they grow. Figured I had the room, why not

The room is maintaining between 75-78 deg with lights on and 70-72 with lights off. I have an 8" exhaust set to come on at 78deg. and off at 76. Humidity has been an issue, as outside air is running around 12%. But with humidifier and adding in 50gal water reservoir has helped to maintain around 50% for last week.
