New Grower First auto grow: Northern Lights, Berry Bomb, & Vertigo

Just starting week 8 today, so around day 56. Looks to be doing quite well. There are a couple of nice looking bud sites with good exposure to the lights that look like they are (hopefully) going to go nuts soon. First real grow, so I don't really have a basis of comparison to say how it's doing compared to "how it's supposed to".

Update on the Royal Queen Amnesia plant. Seems to be coming back from the nute burn when I moved it to the buckets and light strength nutes too early. Looks to be having some good root growth now and is starting to take off pretty well. Moved it to full strength tonight, so going to keep an eye on it for new signs of burn in the next few days. The bubble bucket seems to be working nicely. MUCH easier to work with than the big 10" net pots and drip rings in my previous setup (that the other two plants are still in...last two to use it most likely).

Sorry for the lack of updates. Not much changing, to be honest. The two big girls haven't made much change visually the last several days. Still looking for the most part healthy. Some discoloration on a few spots that might be PH drift from what I've researched. Had a problem with the Bluelab Guardian probe that may have got things wonky on the PH scale for a few days. Mostly just keeping an eye out for the leaves to start changing based on what I've read over in the new growers forum.

The little Amnesia plant is starting to take off nicely. I think the smaller net pot allowing the roots to develop outside it quicker than the big 10" lid pots I've got the other plants in really got things growing faster. May just be a feeling. I need to do a bit of back reading and figure out the days. Really seems to be enjoying the DWC and aeroponic space created by the bubbling a LOT. Getting some really neat looking spiky root growth starting to take off.

Now that I'm getting a better feel for the size of plants and the space I'm working with, I'm holding off on starting anything new until after the first two are at least to the being flushed stage, if not all the way to harvest. Going to try out some totes next with two plants. May end up capping the number I run in the closet at four unless I do something like try out photos with a short veg period (ie...try larger number of smaller plants). So many things to want to try out and so little space. :smoking:

I'm starting to get a little concerned that the Amnesia plant might be getting a bit on the stretchy side. I've got in coming up between the two big girls, so the lights are high up to accommodate all three. I don't know...just looks a little on the "tall and lanky" side to me. Thoughts?

Edit: by my count, she's at about 44 days and sitting at about 19 inches tall

Also starting to wonder just when the big girls leaves are going to start yellowing out indicating they're ready to start finishing. Trying to be patient, but really really wanting to get my first successful harvest and smoke. I've got a dead elm tree out front that I just might have to call a tree guy on because I'm going to go bonkers if I don't get to cut down SOME plant soon. :eek1:

Hey man! Joining in pretty late, but looks like things are bidding well for you. SO thats good. =) Just like DAB said. Just take it as it comes. No rush. Ive cut a lot of plants down early because I was anxious. Still came out great but, I know it would have been a lot better had I waited. I know its hard though lol. :smokeit:

Cheers brother, and here is some karma for a great bountiful harvest =).:karmacloud::vibes:

Quick update on the girls. All seems to be growing along nicely.

Berry Bomb is, I believe, starting to get close to finishing up. Starting to see what I think may be the faintest yellowing on the tips of some of the leaves that I don't believe was there before. Also she's started slowing way down on how much water she's taking in per day, and I'm starting to see some PH drop in the res overnight (not drastic..but definitely new). So for sure she's going through some sort-o-change I'd say. Going to keep on keeping on eye on her and I'm hoping to be able to start flushing in the next week or two.

Northern Lights is starting to fatten out in the bud area a bit. She's started going through a good two to three quarts of water per day, to the point that I've bumped up res changes by a couple days a time or two to keep the TDS levels up for the nutes. May time out nice if she finishes up a week or two after the other, as I still haven't started thinking as much as I should about where I'm going to dry them. So there's a chance with available space of only having really good space for one at a time.

The Amnesia plant is still worrying me a bit with how tall she is. She's now the tallest plant in the closet, and only just starting to get into early flowering. I may need to do a bit of reading up on what problems I may face with an overly tall, stretchy plant. Any thoughts on it welcome.

All three all tucked away in the closet together...

Well, after reading through some of the recent posts on the thread in the general section about leaves not always for all people turning yellow, and after more observation of the trichs using a 40x loop, I've gone ahead and started flushing the Berry Bomb and Northern Lights plants this evening. Amnesia still growing along nice. Was noticing some discoloration getting a little heavier on the roots of her, and seeing some slime on the air hoses when doing res swaps that I didn't get with the previous setup. So after a bit of reading I added some HydroGuard to the res with the last swap. Seemed to really take to it well. I swear she grew an inch overnight after adding that stuff (though that could have just been the fresh nute change lol). Anyhow, hoping it will help keep the res cleaned up and maybe start seeing less slime.

Really looking forward to first harvest in a couple weeks. *insert happy dance here*
