Lighting Finally building my COB

That is A LOT of grease, you want as thin of a layer as you can get, all the extra just oozes out the sides anyway. I use a plastic toothpick with a flat side to spread it as thin as i can wthout actually being able to see the metal through it. Also its easier for me to apply the thermal compound to the actual chip, so you dont have a bunch of extra around the sides.
Damn im too late!! It should work out okay( i hope).. Ya know, this is the reason i wanted to document every step, ive been thru some builds and have never seen how much to put..good info for the next person...im at a stopping point for the night but this is where im at with the build..

Nice thing about those radial sinks is you can just screw into them from the top also, looking good. Which model sink is that?
Im not sure in the model number,i think they are able to handle 75watts cobs so more than enough for these.. Ill post the info if i find the invoice..

Hey Budelee,
I may have missed it, but where did you source you heat sinks. I am looking for some to set up a set of leds and that is along the lines of what I wanted.

They look like mechatronix heatsink. I think they are MODULED MEGA 134100 which is rated at 75watts.
