Finally! A Science base Decarboxylation of Cannabis!

I was skeptical of this product at first, but they have been providing good information, so I believe this may be a worthwhile product for those who have an extra $180 to drop.
But I feel the best for those who don't have or don't want to spend that much on a single use device, the oven method using a pizza stone is still about the best option. No, its not giving to Nth last percentage of cannabinoids, but it gets pretty close when done as precisely as possible. 27 minutes at 250F is still a viable guideline. Use a digital oven thermometer ( there not expensive ) and a pizza stone. You'll get at least 80% and more likely 90% + with this method
I agree! The Ardent thing is cool as hell but, it is pricey. Thanks for the research and science much appreciated. :d5:

until I can afford one I use an over thermometer. let it set the temp and settle for 10 minutes and it usually works fine for me. so its fair enough imo. a lil wasteful in electricity sure, but the next best thing instead of having that expensive device but would like to try it out. I got everyone around me wanting to do decarbing and oils n things LOL

I'd love to try one myself. I've also seen an story on using a sous Vid gadget to decarb with and I call bullshit. His lab test show full decarb when at that temperature, its not possible, so he likely decarbed it further than stated. And I'm not going to spend $200 for a device like that.

I saw and considered that. I have to say tho - as imprecise as a gas oven may be - I got results.

That being said - this new smoke has gained serious couch lock & sedation. Cotton mouth suddenly became an issue too.

I wish I had saved half back so I could more precisely determine what was lost by smoke comparison. Something was lost in the head-buzz area - I can say that much. You could really smell the terpenes cooking out of the mixture for the first 10 minutes. I don't know what was worse - when the smell started or stopped.

I realize this decarboxylation method is not meant to make smoked cannabis different or better, but by golly that's what it did for me! It's a wonder more people aren't talking about this considering all the new concentrates that are being created nowadays.

You're wrong.
Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction, the removal of a COOH (carboxly) group from the thc-a molecule to convert it to thc.
Certainly there are things that affect decarb, such as atmospheric pressure, amount of moisture, pH, or the herb immersed in oil.
But the presence of surrounding dry herb material, or lack thereof, has little effect on this chemical reaction, under normal conditions, so long as the material is uniformly heated.
I have successfully decarbed shatter exactly the same way I've decarbed herb.
The Ardent Lift/Nova decarb device also says that concentrates and flower decarb the same, and I've not seen any scientific evidence to the contrary.
