yes i have a accurate meter the draw is as stated. all the manufacturars hype there own product to the extreme. i also have a 3w diode 135watt blackstar it draws 80 to 90 watts it doesnt matter witch manu. they ALL do it. so far despite blackstars hype, i tink it is the best bang for the buck! yes this or that panel may be better, but not at 6, 7, 8 hundred dollars.View attachment 61590

So how about the listed coverage? the glh muddy claim the same coverage for the 300 and the 500???

I think iv read on the forum that the recommended wattage for growing is 50w per sq foot,my tent is only 2x2= 4sqx50w =200w actual power draw needed..its better to have 2 240w than a 500w as it improves your core growing area

I've got two areas running LEDs. One is 2' x 2.5' with the GLH 240 watter. The 3' x 4' area has two Blackstar 240s. I'm seeing they aren't quite enough in there and will probably add a third.

I got a humidity problem also so I get heat from the dehumidifier that runs when the lights are off...

and the 3x4 12 sqft area ? for a 300w you find thats right on?

The core coverage for my GLH is listed at 2' x 2.8'. If I were using HPS I would run 250 watts in there max. Most claim a larger coverage area but to achieve that the lights have to be raised a lot higher since they emit little side light using 60 or 90 degree lenses. When raised that high they lose a lot penetration. That was the problem with a lot of the early 1 watters. They were using 120 degree lenses to get maximum coverage and had no penetration. If looking to purchase one, I'd recommend finding out what it's core penetration is and then try to grow only within the core.

So how about the listed coverage? the glh muddy claim the same coverage for the 300 and the 500???

i'm halfway through another trial using a Fero 9004g and the 360 4g plus ive added a 250 watt hid just to bump up the heat a bit I dont see much point in using a heater this way i get the benefit of light and heat
the 900 is a great looking unit just a bit heavy is all which makes height adjustment a bracing affair
she draws around 650 watts if memory serves me right and is 1M20 long
once i've done this one I will be doing another showdown
separate tents 2x1m
1200 watts of led against 2x 600w hids
the medium will be rockwool on nft tables
however I may have to go for standard photo period clones to help make the showdown more exact due to the variances that I have seen so far using autos
unless someone could point me in the direction of something that is fairly phenotype stable
ive got some amnesia from dinafem and some cheese from budda which I may give a shot
I really enjoyed growing these autos and tried out about 7 different types and I have just ordered 5 super stinkys and three think different from dp but I might just finish those off out doors in the spring
as well as the 20 cream caramel autos that im on at the mo (wicked smoke boys truly fantastic) its keeping me pretty busy :)

Keep em coming. I love these showdowns, especially when the LEDs win!

This thread is a comparison grow of the two, LED and HPS. LEDs blew the HPS away. That's been my experience as well. Read post #35.

Yup =) I'd love to see this. I say LED has better veg growth but hid wins in yield

yeah you tell em muddy :) lol im excited to start the larger comparison i'm starting to get into this
wish it could be a auto one
