New Grower FastBuds: LSD-25, Pineapple Express, Northern Express and Tangie`Matic

**UPDATE DAY 47**
So as the girls have been doing nicely in the tent, some changes has occurred: Flowering time is finally here and we are ready!
After a peak in this morning I had to snap a picture of the girls:
Back Right: Pineapple Express
Back Left: LSD-25
Front Right: Northern Express
Front Left: Tangie`matic (Still below the 2. scrog net)

The Pineapple Express up in the rear right corner started to shoot up trough the second scrog net, so I did a little moving around after this picture was taken

The hours spent on this forum, YouTube, E-bay and AliExpress has been growing and with this time spent, I decided to make a few new purchases and the first one arrived today!

:woohoo:We got LED! :woohoo:

More specifically, we got a Mars Hydro 900w LED. The 600HPS that was connected to a 250 watt power adapter is moved gently to my storage room, to make doom for disco.

This picture is taken after standing in under the LED for 5 hours at max distance, so far so good! I`m looking forward to see the progress over the next few days!

I got some exciting things coming down the line and I can`t wait to see how she will perform during flowering :pop:

Images didn't come through for some reason?

:yeahthat:...don`t get it!
  • Uploaded them to the AFN media page
  • Used the copied link from there
  • Put them in here
same as all the other pics from before :eek1:

A lot of changes to the forum, may be a bug or just need a tutorial.

** UPDATE DAY 52 **

The girls are climbing away and all the girls are now well into flowering.
I started to see some purple leaf stems on some of the girls, something that tells me that they are about ready to get some more Phosphorus.

Will give them some pH`d water today together with some vitalize before they will start to get some PK bud booster next week!
Here are some pictures of the girls (hopefully it works):

Here is a closer look at the Pineapple Express that is enjoying her upper left corner!

Here is a closeup of the LSD-25 bud!

Some of the bud spots have start to turn red and will be easier to spot when the bud has packed some weight!

So that was a little update on the girls!
There are also happening interesting things as my garden is expanding and my 120x120x200 tent came yesterday together with the LED. Today I will shop to set up an automatic watering system for the other other tent. Also put 3 new seeds in water (Dutch Passion: 1x Auto Ultimate, 1x Auto Glueberry OG, 1x Think Big), so keep an eye out in my signature for the beginning of the next journal! The plants that will take over this closet will be germinated in a few weeks!

So yesterday it was about time with some new LST again of the girls. As this is the first time I`m really using only LST on the plants, It`s something really rewarding to see the plants grow back into the intended growspace the day after LST!
As the LSD-25 started so catch some speed and ended up (untrained) 15-20 cm higher than the others in the tent, I felt the necessity to do something about it to ensure a more even canopy all over the tent!

I had to drag some of the stems into place to ensure that they come up in the right place. I will change the placement of some of the anchors today, as they should be where they are supposed to be today.
Unfortunately one of the stems bent/broke over on the Northern Express during the LST, but after a quick glance into the tent this morning, she looked like she recovered from that nicely. The stem was not ripped off, it was more bent and soft.
I will continue to LST them today and tomorrow and will post a new picture update when the plants are where I want them to be.

As for the discussion above, we talked about my heat problem and the airhood reflector was mentioned to regain control of the temp in the tent. Unfortunately, the price on the airhood reflectores was a little higher than intended, and since I`m planing to go over to LED (hopefully in time for the next grow), It just don`t feel like an investment that I can afford right now.
I did some LUX testing trough an Android app, but got readings that was not right - It showed 15 - 25 000 LUX with a 600W HPS hanging about 30-40 cm (12`` - 16``) over the canopy. I tried to lower the light, but the girls was quick on telling me: "That shit is too close dude" so I had to move them back up.
Hopefully its just the measurement app on the phone that is giving me wrong readings.. If not, maybe my 600W bulb is not getting enough juice? I know that my Electronic Ballast was originally set up for a 250W bulb..

More pictures will come in the end of this week/the weekend, so stay tuned and please come with feedback and tips to strengthen further growth!
Maybe anyone know about a good LED for my metrics (see 1st page) for about 150-200 $ ?
I have a galaxy s7 and I'm using this app, seems pretty accurate to me and it let's you record. Was getting readings around 130k on mine at the distance you mentioned and I'm using a 600w hps also.

Hey buddy!
Thanks for checking in!

Things are developing fast and its been a little while since I needed a LUX meter.
I also used the phone apps before I got a lux meter, and can tell you this: The phone apps (all of them) needs a lux meter to calibrate the sensor in your phone to the right values, as the settings in your phones "lux meter", is just to measure some set values to find out how much your phone screen will light up.
Unfortunately, the readings where so wrong, that It`s usually better to just go with standardized lengths.
(As for 600watt HPS is minimum 14" (35cm) and maximum 25" (64cm). Sunlight strength (Optimal for early/mid flower) will then be on 16" (41cm). )

To ensure the right distance between the light(s) and the canopy, I recommend to invest in a lux meter or even better: a PAR meter.
For your HPS, a LUX meter will be plenty, and can be picked up at ebay for around $15

Still saving up for a PAR meter.. :2cents::2cents:

I've used my light sensor on my old galaxy S4 to test the LUX first. Then i ordered a LUX meter from amazon and i had to change the calibration factor to 0.71 to get the correct readings.

My point exactly, that`s a 29% decrease in light right there. Gotta love that LUX meter:woohoo1:
All phone models have different standardized settings, so be careful so not everyone in here turn their phone lux calib. down to 0.71 :LOLStoned:
