Dutch Passion Dutch Passion StarRyder grow by Seymour-buds

Qs; for seymour-Buds..................seymour,........the lady you are taking out to leave the one SR,.............in the last update, was the picture taken lights out with flash ??.....or lights on ??...........as the fan leaves color is showing a little cal/mad def ??.........................im not sure if this is right ?/.................or is it just the pic bro ??..................

It seems to be happening else where to.......(And to me).......the power and multi spectrum of these lights seems to make the girls perform to a very high level in nutrient and mineral uptake, hence the size etc. That the more volatile elements seem to be stripped out of medium so quickly,...................i know you have mentioned before about cal/mag def under the high power leds. is this the case with lady no2 seymour ??............the one remaining "Matriarch" is not showing this ?/............'it could be the weaker gene out come is variable in the strains, the further you go along the hybridization back cross gene path. I have now fed them the cal/mag tonic, and it's to early to say if this has now stopped happening on new growth etc im wk 8, 2.5wks into flowering SB...........also the germination rate of alot of Auto's has been effected (Dropping) by the progress of "F7" hybrid back cross, 10 TD's 3 made it, hopefully the williams influence will stabilize the SR line !!.............great blogging as allways, superb updates seymour.............ps me leds are 20' above canopy when symptoms accrued .................

its strain related, sativa's tend to show a difference in colour straight away, the leaves tend to be more light green and look like they are being under fed, this was a mistake i made right at the beggining of the journal purely because i thought i was growing an indy/sat mix but more on the indy side of things , anyway sativas do tend to show more of a cal/mag def if you look at many think different grow diaries you will see they all seem to start to yellow even when not under l.e.d lights

another thing that can contribute to the cal/mag def is ph , ph is an absoloute pain in the arse but its the difference between getting good results or bad 1's , if the ph is out by a couple of points then some plants will punish you, they can be really fussy and tend to have sweet spots where they will thrive

i run cal/mag as an extra additive to help maintain plant vibrance but again if other factors are out then its like pissing in the wind , indicas seem to handle the situation better but some people will say that their is a key to growing sativas, for me its all about getting dialed in on the plants as quickly as possible before things get outta hand and if your growing in hydro things can happen quick , i wouldnt change my growing style though purley cause the results are good and the extra effort is worth it

with hydro you have things like ph and the type of water your using and the temps + the strain your growing and the nutrienst your using and the lights your balzing, all these things need to be understood in order for plants to thrive and if any of them are slightly out then the plants will soon let you know , it sounds difficult but i have the passion for wanting to learn and understand what makes the plants tick and how to maximise the best end result, im a great beliver in the fact that if you keep the plants happy they will reward you well but sometimes even i get things wrong, im only an earthling at the end of the day :D

i think my lights are about 10" away from my remaining lady so that kinda rules out your theory on having the lights to close although that may apply to some l.e.d's , it could also be a certain colour missing in the spectrum i see a lot of newer panels are now 11 spectrums, l.e.d tech is changing all the time so whats good this week might well be outshone next

you can clearly see in my taiga grow that the leaf material is healthy and the taiga is mostly sativa but this will only happen if things are going right

Hey Seymour are these fem seeds? That plant you threw out almost looks like a male although it probably would have shown by now. Your remaining female looks to have awesome budsites as your plants always do. Can't wait to see her grow some nugs :smokebuds:

there female seeds and i can confirm that she was 100% female as she was showing calyx but hadnt thrown pistils, i had exactly the same thing happen on my automazar grow where she was covered from head to to in calyx but didnt throw pistils until day 35 and then kicked into flower, im not sure why dp strains do this but it obviously makes for the longer veg which in turn makes for a bigger harvest, their is a few think different phenos that also carry this trait but you would have to speak to them and find out their secret lol

i didnt throw her out she has been planted in soil and is now in the great outdoors, puff , pass , peace :smokebuds:

i orderd some new rubber airstones today as their supposed to be better than the ceramic type stones which can get build up of calcium and have to be cleaned regular where as the rubber type stones are supposed to be maintinace free, ill post up pics and shit when they arrive and give a run down on them, always willing to try new things and share the results :D

Thanks for the Answers on the sativia def probs seymour. is it posible to dial into a soil grow?/.........as the fresh soil to wk 4 pos 5. is buffering out the ph, i use ph6 mineral water at air temp, o2 sat 90% low calcium, then add 2.5/3mls/ltr/1. so ph 5.7-5.8 SB.

S-B..im giving every other feed, iron mag tonic in ph8-8.4 alkaline tap water 90% o2 sat air temp.. when the soil washes clean wk5-6 onwards, the water controls ph in medium (Fibre) . my Big devils are 60% sativa, so i shouldant worry to much as i have lost 10-15% of lower/mid fans from ea lady etc. The 1no Td i got out of 3 put down, is mint not a mark on it and up at 900mm and perfect, popcorn packed. As these strain progress the large (Tall, 60mm diam) main colas seem to have disapeared from the auoto. When the first short shit came out LR Rudy, they where chubby stinky fat colas that took day and day to go down to 65% rh on burping !!............led new auto combo bring alot more 'Quantity" but in sweeter semi walnut sized "Nuggets of DP Gold" !!.....

I like quantity and little nugs, as they are more available to "Easy Cure", have you ever tried to dry out to 65% RH a "10' "Donkey Shaunk"........you there weeks with the rh meter, and smoked twice the value of the cloncker that is still wet in middle !!................rather DP "Mini Golden Roasted Nuggets".........go on DP and JD. and S-B !!..............more mini nug by the buckets i say.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,£1.75p 250ml rubber topped zuger jars at wilksinsns are sold out ! and 17p alfresco water, cant refill shelves fast enough S-B............the DP Auto "B" berry look crakin as allways from Mr. "T", hope fully the fact they dont have a government at the mo "Might Improve Things" !!.........StarRyder is alive and well !!......may the 'Potenz of hydrogen" be withyou my friend......"A" H.nd. B.Sc. M.Sc. Ph.d...... looking forward to nxt update already !!,..............fuc eastenders etc..........what on AFN !!..........

quick update.....

gotta admit that the 1st half of this grow has been a rollercoaster ride, ive had everything from overfeed to ph swinging etc etc , all of this is purely my own fault for not taking the gentle approach but with my issues aside i think im finally back in the driving seat

the starRyder has kicked into flower in true auto style throwing pistils everywhere, the big question is how big is she gonna get , im guessing maybe another 2 weeks of pre-flower stretch before she goes into full bud production, as already stated she's been switched from veg to flower nutrients and currently stands @ 19" tall

pics of the lady in question,my main focus is just to keep her happy and hopefully she will reward me at the end, its sometimes nice to be in the control seat of a grow where you are dictating to the plants everything but every once in a while you get some strains that actually dominate you, im thinking of buying her a gimp mask and leather whip

You show her who the boss is Seymour lol

All I gotta say is wait for your Auto Blueberries to get into flower!!!! She is looking really good and you are Def In the Driver's Seat!

day 31 from seed

the starRyder is now standing at 22" (54cm) tall and still not emitting any aroma whatsoever, her feed is 1.2 ec as she is proving to be a really light feeder, she is drinking about 1-2 ltrs a day , im also having the uphill struggle of trying to get my new grow room dialled in with consistent temps, and correct airflow but this is something i need to figure out for myself and it will all come good by the time im finished , its like going back to basics

their is no staggered internode growth on the starRyder yet which means she still has more stretch to come

the yum yums are on day 11 from seed and had fresh res changes today with rhizo and formulex coming in @ 1.2 ec also added cal/mag

my new airstones were delivered on friday but nobody was in to sign for the parcel so they should be here tomoz
