Dutch Passion Dutch Passion StarRyder grow by Seymour-buds

day 7 from seed

thats 1 week passed already, all my babies had a fresh res change yesterday and are now on

formulex
rhizotonic
cal/mag
silica

the ec is 1.2 and the ph is 5.8, all 3 have got roots outside of the net pots and are fully in the res, id actually forgotten about the silica untill someone pm'd with a question regarding which 1 i use lol its now been added

the blue cheese are also coming along nicely ill hopefully have them potted up in soil at the weekend

not bad for a weeks work, thats pretty much the hardest part of dwc is actually getting the seeds rooted and settled in, it should be all systems go from here :booya:

im wondering how long it is before this strain gets released to the public??

Seymour;.......lovin the new space, it's only 200mm wider though do you think its enough ?......have you had to change your carbon in carbon filter yet seymour ?/.....if you can smell anything outside, is that the best way to tell carbon pores are full ?/......they say 5-6mnths and its done ?.......can you access your filter to change 3mm cintered carbon ?.........koi pond shops sell the 3mm carbon at 2.5 quid kilo. i found 6k will fill it. Do you leave yours on 24hr ? to pull fresh air in during dark hrs ??

I would bet tony is keeping quiet at the mo, for good reason,.......i am guessing a new factor has been line bred in to this strain,......and im guessing it's the "height gene" from regs. So you may need a taller space seymour !!.......that will lead to a new record seymour,........your right to stick with tony,..........he is in the top 5 most knowledgeable people on this bio-sphere. And has years of line breeding, cross breeding & selecting experience under his belt. As with Morphius, we believe tony is the one !! and the TD record stands testament to that. Imagine a 1.5-1.7m auto with hundreds of inter-nodes, this could mean there aint a cab on market to deal with height !! it would need to be 2.2m high ! in lights and 600mm min clearance to plants from light. You like yours 3ft above ladies. LST may be the only way !!.......use sticky backed hooks to set strings from cab sides !!...............we will see what tony has in the gene store this time..........one thing for shure it will be new on the planet !!......a "Jolly Green Giant" we can expect !!.........

Well done seymour & Tony..............this is even more edge of seat than the "TD" record grow. keep up the great work "SB" & DP"T".

Ps; best thing i ever done was get 510w led array mix spec, cant believe the difference it make to plant biology, having correct spectrum instead of 27k and 6k single spec set up. And inter-node compression to die for. !! Thanks for showing me seymour.

im using a rhino filter and its lasted me quite a few grows, if it runs out ill just buy another one as they aint really that expensive and you cant put a price on security

my grow room is a lot bigger than my old space which was 120 x 90 x 180 my new space is 150 x 150 x 200 if the plants get to big you can bend them or tie them down and make them grow length ways instead of straight up, id love to get into scrogging at some point in the future , as for this strain i have no idea how they are gonna turn out ( actually thats a lie i know they will be monsters lol) you can actually determine the height of the plants by determining what feed you give them when they show sex

if they show sex and you keep them on veg nutrients they will grow stupidly tall purely because of the intake of nitrogen, if you switch them over to a bloom feed as soon as they show sex which should have less nitrogen in they wont grow as big, theres so many things you can do as grower to determine the outcome of the plants, i always like to switch the plants over on the 2nd week of showing sex, purely down to the grower and what they wanna achieve

were now in the uk summertime so the l.e.d lights are proving their weight in gold at the minute, im running no extraction and my temps are 76 degress and im blazing 600 watts in the grow room

we will have to wait untill dutch passion release the info on this strain to find out what its all about, my job at the minute is to test grow this strain and bag some free smoke :D

Hey Seymour, do you ever find your ladies getting droopy after 15-16 hrs under the HG LEDs? Only too be standing upright again next morn after a sleep?... mine are doing that everyday now.. Doesn't seem to be doing any harm, as I say they're mad for again next day.. Just wondering if they could maybe be getting too much light/intensity?? I'm not even running at full tilt yet...

:toke:

yeah sometimes they know when its getting close to lights out, remember plants are concious not to the same extent as humans but they know whats going on in their surroundings, when its getting close to the end of the day they tend to relax so the leaves will drop slighlty, its amazing to watch nature in action, if you get a chance you should watch "the secret life of plants" its an old film but its really good

Even on the lower levels of life, there is a profound consciousness or awareness that bonds all things together.A fascinating account of the physical, emotional, and spiritual relations between plants and man.

Seymour thanks for getting back to us. yes i think the activated carbon can soak up a lot of odour over time. I am on third event with this one and no sign of odour bypass as yet, thats a lot of hours bro. I make my own 250 diameter filters. So i can change 3mm sticks inside. I use around 7-8k to fill the old girl, 2 quid a kilo. I then use reduction collars down to 100mm flex alloy with the rockwall outer.

Helps with sound proofing. I made my own silencer from 100mm flat kitchen extractor duct, and partially filled with polyester fluff from a cheap pillow filling, it works well. I use a "Silavent" 102R inline fan. Runs at 28watt !! and 28db's !! and has a thermal protection, and 2 speeds. 145 m2/hr and 187m2/hr.........me micro fans on led units are louder !!. I am making a second filter, as i think i am going to need it if they get anywhere near TD size !!............making DWC pumped quick fill manifold system, going to try DWC next run..............ouch !!.........EC PH meters, & O2 & water pump to get !!.....

looking forward to next update seymour............as always better than TV !!............and twice as entertaining.

why not just use acoustic ducting and an acoustic fan with controller, my setup us pratically silent except for the fans on the l.e.d lights but even then its nothing major

ill keep an look out for your grow diary when you got everything setup

cheers

seymour, do you add silica and cal/mag in the res together? also, if you're still looking for the 'boss hog' air stones here's a link to a place that ships them internationally: http://www.greners.com/micro-pore.html i've never purchased from them, just came across the site. looking forward to the upcoming growth.
