Hey everyone!

I just discovered that this site exists so my grow diary will start about five weeks into my grow. I’ll continue adding progress posts weekly

A little less than 2 weeks ago I posted a thread after I accidentally topped my plant very low. Thank you to everyone that responded and convinced me all was not lost. The following pictures range from the day of the snap (D21) to a few days ago (D34)

Over the past two weeks she has grown more than I ever could have imagined. I have been doing some pretty extensive LST to get the remaining two branches she had left flat to maximize side branches and bud sites. She is now about 5 inches tall but stretches from one side of a 7 gallon fabric pot to the other and is pretty bushy. Her main branches are now about as fat as my pinky and have some huge knuckles where they connect to the main stalk. She just popped some white hairs yesterday and I switched her lights from all 6500k to a mix of 3500/6500k and gave her her first light feeding.

Im pretty interested to see how she will yield. Hopefully, keeping her flat will get me some good size colas despite her unfortunate incident! Any advice is appreciated in general is appreciated but info about defoliation and how my lst is going would be great!

Your lst looks great m8.. plant looks nice and healthy too.. amazing how strong these little ladies are.. as for defoliation the argument rages on.. do or don't.. go heavy once or go a few leaves at a time.. dont touch a leaf.. strip her out.. I think it will rage on forever.. personally.. in your situation.. with a little bush growing id just pluck any leaf that was covering a bud site/branch tip as and when I noticed it and let the light at it. Defoliation as and when hasn't stopped a plant growing on me yet. Lovely job :toke: :vibes:

@Tll7 :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:I noticed your temperature and RH were out of the sweet spot? Targets are 68°F night 78°F day with RH >40%<60%. Forgive me if I am being redundant. I know the ideal numbers but almost never hit them in the blazing summers here.

I am in the other camp I don't defoliate except low in mid-flower for air circulation. The leaves are where the plant makes energy to grow flowers.

Thanks Hope! I’m glad the lst looks good! My first grow I did a scrog which was ok but I think I prefer this method a lot better. It’s a little bit trickier but I think I’m able to get things where I want them a lot easier. Hopefully some of the skinnier side branches will thicken up soon. I’m a bit worried about my yield but at this point I’ll take what I can get after what this girl has been through.

I have mostly been plucking leaves that touch the soil or are really obnoxiously in the way. I don’t want to remove too much at a time so I am not planning on doing any large scale defoliation

These temps and humidities have been mostly figured out. I’m growing in a cold basement so things are a bit hard to control. I will definitely take too cold over too hot though like my last grow! Right now temperatures are hovering in the high 60’s until my exhaust fan kicks on three times a day which brings it down to around 65. Humidity ranges between 50-60 throughout the day. This strain is recommended for people growing in colder weather and their grow video shows a plant that grew in low 60’s once established. I’ll probably end up having the fan only go on once or twice a day for now and maybe add another heat source to get the temps up into the lower 70s but she seems to be doing ok for now. Thanks for looking out!

I have heard that many people pluck leaves that are shading out bud sites. I suppose it makes sense that those sites need light most but aren’t large fan leaves supposed to gather energy for the plant too? I mostly just tuck unless I really can’t find a place to put it. Hopefully the stretch won’t get too crazy!
