Drying question

Thanks I've invested lots and I'm sick of jars. Been looking into Grove bags and will definitely be ordering some ASAP. What a great product from my research I have done. Can't wait to try them over jars in the future. My blueberry from dj Short will be going in grove bags for sure. 5 weeks roughly til the chop

Also I am going by Kyle Kushman video on when to jar. When the main stems make a snap noise but don't break in half and when the buds pop off instead of bend like when they're wet. So far this harvest is the best I have had now that I got a dry/cure tent. So glad I invested money into my dry and cure tent to control temp and humidity. From here I think I got it guys and gals. Thank yall so much!!! I used Kyle Kushman method on when to jar like said above. I smoked some bud after a slow 3 week dry at 61 degrees Fahrenheit and 60 humidity and no throat burn. Terps taste good and no hay. Buds sponge back out when squeezed but don't feel wet at all. They feel like nuggets should feel. Woohoo I been fucking up dry and cures for 3 years now so I'm so pumped I finally got it down. I started growing to not have to buy weed and I'm finally to the point where I can smoke my own and not have to buy dispensary weed anymore. That was my goal and I've finally achieved it. I can't wait to see how much better the cure makes the buds as well. Next four days off work so I'll be trimming and jarring the rest starting tomorrow :) I already did a sample branch from two different plants and they are both fire. I'm so happy right now you all have no friggin clue. I am dancing at work. Lol

my name is Tim. brand new here. just started a Tangerine dream, first official autoflower grow, in a 4L plastic pot. {pics soon, only 10 days now].

anyway ive found 4 gr 62% Boveda bags restores/helps cure most buds ive tried. {good for 1/2 OZ.] street weed usually still needs to be cured. too. the integra boost bags are much slowcer and not as effective IMO . i use fliptop jars, 3 to 8 oz. with tight lids. do not pack the jars!! smear the jar gasket with vaseline to help insure the seal. burp and check the Boveda every couple weeks. Ive gotten compacted bud to literally flourish again with patience. dark and warm...

Yes, I am a big fan of the Boveda packs. They are amazing in what they can do. I also found the Integra not near as fast or able to hold the humidity as stable. I usually use the 1 pounder pack so I can get where I want quickly then move to a smaller pack.

I've heard some good reviews on boveda packs. I've heard others say they ruin terps. So I don't know which side of the fence to believe. Lol

Allot of growers always recommend using a fan leaf or several depending on how much your trying to add more moisture too. Then remove fan leaves when you hit your target. Repeat if necessary. That seems like cheaper and easier and more natural to me..

You can never add back what was lost you can add moisture so it doesn't dry out more but honestly I say just do individual eighth jars or quarters and don't open them till your smoking them or open your jars once and awhile and take a few weeks worth out

the newest ones are marked as terpene shields. shop amazon and get the details.

Boveda packs are great. And the answer by @mdabber is spot on and the easiest and most consistent way to go without having environmental control. I do almost the same thing and it works very well in any season

I recently read a comment recommending using a pin type moisture meter to measure the moisture content of the bud. He called for between 10%-12% moisture content before placing in prefered curing container.

I usually split up my dry/cure methods to test each results and also so i dont screw up an entire harvest while learning. Ive hang dried and brown paper bagged, jar cure and im trying some curing bags this round. So far I found each have there pros and cons depending on season. I prefer wet trim to golf ball size buds and into brown bags for a few days. Im liking the moisture meter method of checking dryness but want to confirm the % numbers. I just tried bagging at 15%-20% and the jar hygrometers went up to the mid 70's. I put the buds back in the brown bags to dry some more. Ill try again tomorrow.
