Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

I have 3 brown bags with a good amount in each would one want to open the bags once or twice a day for good air exchange or should I leave them closed?

I just put a layer on the bottom of the bag,(dont over fill) and turn the buds over morning and evening.

I've use brown paper bags and cardboard boxes. I find the boxes are great because you can hang the branches from the sides and get more into the space than if you cover the bottom. Also your buds don't get flat on the sides.

Great method! Drying in bags now and the smell has gotten so much better that it's unreal. Will never worry with hanging again. The part of this grow that I hung has no smell at all now except a hint of hay smell. But the baged part will make your eyes water it smells so strong. Can't wait to see how it is after its cured. It took 94 days in flower so I'm really wanting a good cure and the bags work great. I would definitely recommend this method. Happily growing

i just ordered some different size brown bags (food grade) 100 units each, should be handy.

I've been playing with this, and have tested different variables mentioned here. So far the best results by far came from a 1 day hang (with fan leaves) and then 4-5 days in a brown paper bag. I swear the one day hang with the fans on makes the plant push tons of sugar. I guess it's like a last ditch effort.

Awesome thread, wish I'd found it pre-harvest! Best advice I saw here - no monster colas - as instinctively wrong as it feels, they gotta be broken down.:nicethread::note:

That's unfortunate. Good for the environment but unfortunate. We have one store that charges for bags, if you don't bring your own. The rest just give them away - take as many as you please.
Come to think of it Forestly - and any Chaps from the EU reading this - If any of you ever need any brown bags just ask and I will mail some. Free of charge. If that kinda thing is allowed here, I just realized that may be impossible for security reasons. :baked:

Thats Kind Tetra - But Uk and European folk really can get them for less than your postage.

It's just knowing "where" to get them.

UK - Most independant gorcery (fruit and veg) stores you can grab a few for free.

If you have to buy them - go to Tescos - they've got all sorts - and the slightly thicker ones (which i think are better for removing humidity). It will cost you about £1 for 20 and they're bigger than the gorcery store ones (which means less bags to shake lol)

Hope this helps some UKers find their brown bags lol
