drying help ?

Temp staying around 20°c and rh 53% inside the box, will this be better now?

I presume at least for the first days or until buds seem "dry" that parts of the buds, inside, stems, etc. are still rather saturated with water. So whether the ambient air RH is 40% or 60% or higher, the drying process will go on for at least a good part of a week.

What makes you think that one set of moderate temp. and RH is better than another? I don't know what RH and temp is better/best, but obviously everything will dry quicker at lower ambient RH and/or higher temperature, which you may or may not want. Again, if you have the time, it's generally best to dry slower.

Thanks everyone for your advise,

I removed the plants out of the grow room,
got a cardboard box and made holes in it, and made multiple rails out of fishing wire inside, and set all the full branches on top of all the wire so they don't touch each other, set the box ontop of the fridge/frezzer then
Put in the hygometer in the centre of box
Temps between 17.5°©/18.5°©
Rh- between, 60%/65%
for the last 24hs they have remained stable

Every time i have dryed before it didn't go well for me, i just hope this works this time,

Does this sound an OK idea,

I've had the same problem the last couple weeks with 2 different plants I harvested. I made a drying box and I thought I had done better controlling humidity on the 2nd plant, but it turned out dryer than the 1st plant. !st plant was showing around 50% after 24 hours in the jar, but the 2nd plant was down in the 30s, (very close to the ambient humidity). I got one more to harvest and I hope to do a better job. Btw, ideal drying conditions for cannabis is the lucky number 7. 70 degrees F., 70% humidity and 7 days drying time! :pass:

Boxing day I harvested 2 plants and just hung then at the top corner of the tent near the filter, temp around 20°© and humidity around 40% and found that they were drying too quick, so had to try something else,

Harvested another one on the 29th too and put the branches with bud on the lower rails in the box with the plant harvested on boxing day on the rail above that in theory that it adds a bit of moisture back into the dryer buds slowing drying down abit on the ones I feel dryed too fast, ( will this work lol)?

I'm not sure what will work at this point. The way I fixed my box ended up having the stalk sticking up out of the box, with the flaps cut in place to allow for closure. After the 1st plant dried out to quick, I wrapped a garbage around most of it to try and help retain moisture, but the 2nd plant turned out dryer than the first. I guess I could have watched/checked it earlier and trimmed a day or two sooner. I also wonder if I could somehow keep the cut place on the stalk wetter. Sort of like you do a Christmas tree. :pass:

I read online to always dry in the dark. So I always follow that rule. Winter here in Michigan USA so humidity low. I do whole plant hang also after only removing the fan leaves with no sugar. Then i trim the sugar leaf when the bud is dry enough to start curing. If you got low RH I recommend whole plant hang also or paper bag or box methods mentioned above to slow the dry down. Too much humidity is bad but too little is bad also. Dries bud to quick leaving an undesirable taste. Chlorophyll taste cuz the buds didnt dry right. A cure can help still if you ever over dry but quality buds come from a proper slow dry and slow cure 2 to 6 weeks at least but some cure for up to 8 weeks.

Summer time if humidity is above 60 percent rh then I trim the sugar leaf first to get the bud to dry quicker so you sont get mold or rot.

One of the plants was ready and dry last night , so i have put the buds into a mason jar with a hygrometer the humidity started at 60% 24 hours ago inside the jar and has now reached 70%,
have opened the jar for 15 mins and put the lid back on, do i do this again in 24 hours or what's the besdt way tyo do this? And at what Rh do i stop opening jar?

the moisture will wick back to the outside of the bud, it's still damp inside which is OK. I prefer to start curing at 70rh, it seems the flavor profile is helped by jarring a little early. I like my bud 60 to 62rh
