I know you've explained preety throughly, but would you mind going through and explaining all the process including what trim to use and in what quantites, and how to handle it from the second you chop it till you hash it out.. would really appreciate that.. plus where can I get a micron net that will be suitble so I could build my own hashmaking box :}

a ''recpie'' for that way of extraction would be a great tool for young growers like me who would probably throw all this lovely trim unless they knew better.. im lucky to have stumbled across this post and this forum entirely... so hoping for an in-depth explanation of that.. :}

i can only find 10 kilo blocks on sale at 30 quid with delivery in south east england. it's a bit much for a hash run unless ye have a shitload of trim and i don't like saving up that much trim.

well, when i trim my plants i generally have 3 piles: the trash pile that consists of large stems and fan leaves, the ones the don't have any thc on them at all. another pile is for the trim that i intend to save. anything that has thc visibly on it from the naked eye goes in this pile. All "popcorn" buds go in this pile as well. the tiny buds on the bottom of stalks that will dry up to shake. the third pile consist of my harvest, what i intend to dry and cure to smoke

I put my trim pile in a freezer zip lock bag after harvest and stick it in the freezer. You want it frozen at least for 24 hours before you do the dry ice extraction. I think next time though i will dry out my trim first, then freeze it. Reduces the amount of moisture in the long run.

I went out today and picked up some silk screen just for you Cupcake. Did a test run with just the screen and taping it to a bucket. Worked just like a bubble bag if you secure that sucker on there well enough. Picked up the micron silk screen at Joan's Fabrics in the bridal fabric section. If you don't have one in your area find a fabric store, a craft store like Michaels will most likely not have it. I got the smallest silk screen i could find that most closely resembled the screen from my bubble bag. Got nice blonde kief from my little experiment and all i did was tape the screen onto the bucket. You should have no problem making your own kief box if you get ahold of that screen. the boxes are easy to come by at any craft store. You could even make your own bubble bag too. I ran my trim through the bubble bags 1st then again through the kief box.




Make sure if you go to a place to pick up the dry ice by the pound you bring along your own container to store it in. I picked this styrefoam cooler for about $4.00. Holds the dry ice for about 24 hours so only get as much as you are going to use. 5 pounds cost me $8.00 and was more than enough.

To make the kief into hash get a pollen press. I picked a sharpstone one up from my head shop. they range in price $70 on the high end for a good one.

fill up the vial, holds about 2 grams of kief. crank that sucker down and run the butane torch over it for a few seconds to seal the deal. wait till it fully cools and you got yourself some hash pucks. i

Oy' spel!. That post is so helpfull... thank you for putting the time into writing that post.. gonna do that for sure.. just didn't figure what is that silk screen your talking about.. will prob get a fine micron screen and DIY something.. anyways... greatly appreciated.

lol highly considering that Andy! I'm not gonna lie, i've spoiled myself rotten all weekend smoking hash. It felt strange smoking my morning bowl today without it, but i knew i needed to skip the hash this morning in order to function at work today.

It's back on and poppin' after 5 o'clock!

I went to a good friends house last night and had a hash making party!

He had a bunch of really nice trim from 3 plants laying around...white widow x diesel. very nice smoke.


After 3 hours i had to call it quits and take my ass home. We weren't even half way through pressing all the kief before i left and there was already 2 ounces worth of hash patties made



Got a big thank you in the form of kief and hash to take home with me. all that work was well worth it. :thumbs:
