The XL will be a better fit for a 9 inch bag. You could get the XL system with fabric pots and fold the bag down around the top edge to hold around 3 gal.Thanks. The fabric pots I am looking at are like 9 inches wide. Do you think the round tray would be better for it than the regular tray? The round tray would likely have an inch or so around the outside where the 3 gallon fabric pot does not reach the sides of the tray. Do you think that would be a problem or would it be better to get the regular tray and put the round pot in the square tray in that regular tray on there?
I think what you are wanting to do will work but you may or may not be able to use the root sock properly. The root sock fits around the outside of your container or pot preventing roots from growing into the tray.Thanks. The xl is the round tray the website uses for the 5 gallon fabric pots right? I would rather use my own fabric pots as they are much less expensive and I want to throw it away between grows instead of cleaning the pot out on there. Do you think that inch or so of open space around the pot in the tray would be a problem or would you cover that with hydroton or something like that on there?
Check out @Rain Science bags. Last bag u need to buy.Thanks. The fabric pots I am looking at are like 9 inches wide. Do you think the round tray would be better for it than the regular tray?
