DIY - Self Watering Container

Drilled pilot holes for my jigsaw.

Cut out the inner diameter with jigsaw.

Cut slits in the side so it will fit into the barrel.

Drill holes in the bottom of the 2 gallon container so the water will wick.
I also drilled holes in the top for air exchange. The water level in the resivour will be below the air holes.

Fitted together.

Spray painted, to keep out sunlight in the resivour to prevent algea growth, and also to keep the sunlight off the roots.

Drill over flow holes around the barrel, below the air exchange holes in the 2 gallon wick.

That's it.
Fill resivour with water and fill barrel with media, then plant.
