Dinafem dinafem critical 2.0/ T5 / coco /ebb n' flow Scrog

Thanks a lot treez!
As for the scrog....I put the screen on once the plants reach about 12 in..that way its easier to keep up as the plants veg out. With it being just over 4.5 ft long I can reach into the middle....mostly...just fine. I tuck mostly from the top but as it fills in I try to bring the under branchs up to the top. That way I don't have to cut too many branchs, only clean um up a bit. Hope that makes sense.
I have height resrictions too, one more reason I use t5 lighing.
Look forward to seeing your scrog!

WOW

I just now realized that your set up only consists of 5 plants. It is amazing how full everything looks! From your other pics on your home page it looks like you have been using T5's for more than one grow. My question is, do you notice a major difference in density, oil production, overall size, etc. than say using HPS for the lighting? I am about to purchase a second 600w HPS and do a scrog of probably 10 plants (4 by 8 foot flood table) but I have always wanted to try different lighting and usually don't for fear that the end product won't be as good. Like I said before, jealous is not even a good enough descriptive word for how I feel about your setup. You Rock and Happy Growing to you!!!

Thanks a lot treez. As for the buds I don't know cause I've only done one other grow ever! Check in the hydro section under 8 plants 5 flavors. I went with t5 lighting for space and heat/cooling. I can say this round has been far better for sure, for multiple reasons. I also love that I can put my lights right on top of my plants like an inch away no burn!
The price for the lights an bulbs would be the same for the hps I wanted, so it worked out for me.
If anything else comes to mind I'll post again later.
Thanks for reading the journal!!

Alright....girls are on bloom nutes and lights 14 red 2 blue. Pics....later in the week, for effect! Just know the are still going strong.
E.c 3.3=1600 ppm

I love browsing your thread, can't wait to see the new pics!!!! One question for ya, I always find it hard to bring my ppms up to where you got em, prolly because I'm scared to burn them. How do you determine what strength to make the nutrient solution? Is it trial and error, or do you have a method to your madness lol? Dude keep up the good work and your guaranteed to be rewarded. Happy Growing to You my friend. "Munch"

Well Treez I would like to say its all experience and what not, but that would not entirely be true. Seeing as this is my second ever grow. Here is the madness. .... I follow the feeding chart cutting edge puts out. Now that being said, when their young I started at 1/4 the suggested nutes, then half at next rez change, and full strength after that. So long as I don't see any burn. If no burn I proceed at full strength into bloom. That is what I have done this round. With this stain it seems to be workin good. I know I could dial it in more. Keep the p.h down more, its usually high 6.0-6.8. I will work on that as I go along. I freaked out some much first round tryin to keep things "perfect". This time I am more relaxed about things. Its not make or break for me. I just want to improve an learn. That don't happen without mistakes!

The short answer to your ? I use the max nutes, suggested by the manufacturer as the highest point. Taper down as needed.
This time I am also only topping off the rez with fresh water. I don't add more nutes until rez change. I am still learning these nutes and coco. Next round will be even better.
Hope any of this helps, dude. Keep the good work!

It's fantastic to have somewhere to kick around ideas with like minded individuals. Some of us have lots of knowledge, unfortunately we will never be able to cut the nervousness that comes with growing. For me it use to be things like, "Am I missing a step somewhere? Do I lower the ph or leave it alone?" So I understand, and you think that these feelings would go away with time, but I find myself more excited each and every grow! Some food for thought about your PH if you don't mind the help. Plants (especially cannabis) need phosphates in a major way during the bloom phase of growth, as we all know. Scientists have done major research for us and found out that plants are able to uptake phosphates the most when the PH is at 5.7. During vegetation ph is suitable anywhere from 5.2 to 6.2 for the fact that nitrogen is one of the elements that plants seem to have an easy time consuming regardless of PH fluctuation as long as it's not too extreme. Give it a shot and try to dial-in your PH below 6.0 and give your plants the best bloom they can get. Of course some strains are just awkward and adjustments will have to be made accordingly! Happy growing to All

For sure, I appreciate the input trees. I was just talk fo the mrs. today about dialing in the p.h. so good timing on that!

Lookin good roark. 5 plants, man that's alot. I'm only going to do 2 plants in my first ScrOG. Not sure I could handle a ScrOG like yours :Holy Moly:

Mines going under HID. But since yours looks so good, maybe on my next ScrOG, I'll try it under my T-5 HO fixture...

You guys were talking about the differences in HID -vs- T-5. The only difference I've noticed is the amount of growing room the two have. With the T-5's, your limited to the length and width of the fixture. With HID, you can cover a lot more space. I love my T-5's... Like you said, you can keep the lights super close without burning. Low heat, that's a major + and energy. That's the other major +. My buds, depending on the strain, are always nice and tight with the T-5. Just throwing out my :2cents:

Anyway, nice grow and I can't wait to see them in full bloom... + rep...

Thanks ripster!! I'll be helping the mrs.'s get her 2x4 flood table going this week. Just two plants for hers.I'm really liking the smart pot filled with coco and hydroton and the cutting edge nutes are way easier to cleaan up. No sludgey thick stuff settling in the rez or bottom of the table. She'll have another 8 bulb t5 light going in the same room so there be lots of light biuncing around!
Post some pics later today.
Your totally right about about the length but the width can be more cause I have them spread out a coupl inches. The scrog is 4.5 feet by 4.75 feet. Think next I may try just 4 plants see what that can do.
Have a great day everybody!
