Indoor Diesel Ryder x White Dwarf F2 to F3 micro breeding.

Week 6 Still.

Another little update mid-week. Three more little ones started. Three out of three came through this time. Just goes to show that a little dormant time helps with the process - as nature intended I suppose.

Week 7.

A little shot of my new seedlings - Another week or so & they should be showing sex.

A couple of pic of the Male Herm now. Lots of trichs on this now & it is coming up mostly male, still some fem part showing on it but will have to wait to see if it seeds itself.

Now a couple of pic of the outside female. Starting to trich up & get a little smelly - nice. :)

Week 8.

Only a couple of pics this week as I'm waiting on things picking up again. My new seedlings are on week 3 now, and 1 has shown to be a female. I'm hoping the other two will be as well, due to the fact that the males have usually shown by now. I'll be transferring these plants to my main tent in a couple of days.

A single shot of the outside fem bud. Growth is very slow on the female as the weather is very poor at the moment. The male herm plant is acting very poorly at the moment, a combination of bad weather, bug attacks & root bound issues due to the small pot it is in. if things don't pick up with this in a week or two, then I may have to cull - we will wait and see.

Week 9.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but everything will be updated in the next few hours.

A little pic or two of the outside female test plant. No smell off her yet & a bit airy due to the poor weather, but plenty of trichs. She's also stood up to the almost constant rain, so all good there. Not sure if she's been pollinated by the male herm beside her, as no real signs of seed growth.

Male hermi now. It hasn't been chucking out much pollen lately, but the weather here is bad so that will have a lot to do with it. I think he / she's life is coming to a close in a few weeks no matter what.

A few pics now of the new female breeder. The first one just after supercropping, and then a day later.

Week 10.

Outside female test pics. Starting to suffer a little nute def, you can see with the yellowing. She is being fed, but again with the amount of rain over the last week any nute is washed through. She's also not getting a lot of chances to dry before the next watering, so that wouldn't be helping either. I'll have to put some pot cover together.

Little bud shot of the new female breeder & the plant. Shaping up to be a nice little plant, as hoped. I used my saved pollen on her this week, and hoping it was ok. This is the longest I've saved pollen (although it was only a month or so), and there was a little moisture on the inside of the jar - hoping it was ok. We'll see in a few weeks.

The male herm now... Not doing much this as most of the leaves have been ate by various things. All that is left is the top of the plant. I'm thinking if no movement in the next few weeks, then it goes down.

Week 11.

This brings us up to date now, and a little news on the male hermi first. I was taking a close look at the plant today, and what did I see - but a nice little seed. Just the one, but well formed. I've looked her / him over now, and there was only 1 other which was really immature & small, but this one looks the part. I'll give it a few weeks of drying, and then see what happens.

The seed has given the hermi another few weeks of life, just to see if any more seeds are produced.

Female breeder now, getting into the swing of flower, trichs just starting to appear. She's still stuck in my little seedling box, under a 56w bulb, as my main tent is out of action of a few weeks. Still no signs of the pollen having any affect, so starting to doubt its viability. I'm hoping this doesn't end up as a female with no matching male, as it took a while to get this nice girl.

Week 13.

A couple more week have passed since the last update. The male hermi has been destroyed, it was mostly bug ridden now so I was only putting it out of its misery. On a plus point, the hermi has pollinated the outside fem. This plant is now ready for cutting, and I'll be doing that over the next few days. Not much weed on it, but very berry smelling. Week 13 for this plant.

104922-week-13-wwxdr-fem-outside.jpg

This is the chosen female, still unsure if she is pollinated. This is week 8, but has only been under a 52w cfl & normal daylight. I'm thinking another 4-5 weeks under the main bulb & this one will be very pretty.

104924-week-13-wwxdr-new-seedlings-week-8-bud1.jpg

Next steps. I've put another 5 seeds in, and 3 have broke so far. Looking for another male in case the above plant is not pollinated. By the time the next 3 weeks are over & I have these sexed I should know if I need the males or not for breeding. I've started a new grow, so some of the newer plants will be in the main cab until there's no room. More on the new grow later.

Week 14.

The outside female has now dried enough to remove the seeds, and have a smoke of it. There were a lot more seeds than I'd expected (bonus - the hermi done its job well after all), and plant & bud was very fruity smelling & frosty. The smoke has a nice fruit after taste & quite strong, though I've not had a smoke in a few days. In a few weeks I'll start growing these seeds out to see how things shape up in the fem / male ratio. Doubtful these hermi seeds will be going any far after this generation, but you never know. The more fruit smelling variety seem to be in this weirder lot.

107002-week-14-wwxdr-fem-outside-hermi-seeds.jpg

I'm thankful to say that the chosen female plant is also seeded. Can't say how glad I'm am of this, as I was down to my last few seeds of this generation & didn't want to go back a level. Both plants secured, just in the nick of time. The first well formed seed fell out of the plant this morning, and I've also now noticed another few. This little plant is shaping up nicely, and also has that fruity note to it, but not as strong as in the hermi variety. The smoke of both sorts is nearly the same though, so I'm gaining bulk while losing smell appeal - but the smoke stay the same. A good trade off I think.

Here's the last batch of F2's, only a few days old. 4/5 germ rate & 3/5 got above ground, but I might have killed the 4th.
