Nutrients Dichoti’s Combo test

Both ladies popped up...yesterday, I think, And got their first feed of 1ml/gal Core A&B as per directions. You can’t tell from the attached picture, But the one on the right is the taller of the two, due to the difference in light distance... other than that, they’re identical at this point. I’m going to use a couple soup cans to raise up the 3 gallon pot to make the surface of both pots of coco an even height.

Just feed as needed while they are young. Since your in coco I think your off to a good start with the gentle nutrient mix, for other soil mixes I would recommend people wait longer. You can alternate feeding with plain water as they develop if you need to.

Edit: I’d like to be a little more specific about what I said above and give some info to readers that might be less experienced growers.

When a seed sprouts the first set of round leaves are called cotyledons. The energy stored in a seed is used to develop a root and cotyledons. The young plant does not need any additional nutrients to make these initial roots and leaves. Once the cotyledon leaves start gathering light and the root starts to grow the plant will start growing what are know as true leaves that have the characteristic segmented form with serrated edges and pointed tips that cannabis is known for.

As true leaves develop the plants will start to feed. Coco as a growing media does not have any nutrient for the young plant so starting a very gentle nutrient application is appropriate. Some growing media/potting mixes have a low level of available nutrient premixed in. In this case you would not need to add nutrient until the plant has used up what’s in the mix to start with.

I’m glad you thought to give that explanation for new growers. I forgot that there probably folks coming across AFN for the first time as I type this.
Thank you.

Was lead to believe the tap root getting as far down the pot was key, very wide pots don't quite understand. But a test is a test and all info valuable :coffee: :smoking:
Good luck N keep er lit

Here’s the babies at day 6 or 7...
Little ones got approximately 20oz of feed (week one of veg. on chart) each yesterday to “test the waters”. They seemed to have enjoyed it.

...and a “family pic“ of the four youngsters in my tent that are getting prescription blend.

I just now realized how long it had been since my last update... my apologies.

*note...may be helpful to some*

As a test to see how well P.B. holds ph, I mixed a gallon yesterday around 5:30pm.
My water’s normal ph is usually around 7.5-8. I added ph down to drop the ph to 6.5, then mixed in the nutrients.
After 24 hours, the ph is sitting at 6.37.
I’m not so iffy about using it in my autopot Rez anymore.

@Dichoti don’t know if you kept the jug for more then a day but your pH should stay stabile for a lot longer then 24hrs.

If you have an air pump/bubble stone or water pump (for larger tanks) to keep the mix oxygenated then you can fill your tank with nutrient solution and use it over time as needed or in a system like your autopots that water themselves.

I didn’t get the notification for this, for some reason.

Both girls were moved to the autopots yesterday. By calculating root growth in my head, and knowing where the “wet zone” is, I came to the conclusion that they’re ready, Or should be within a day or two. We’ll find out if I was wrong in a day or two if everything is droopy.

Also, I think I skipped a week on the feed chart (May have been really baked while mixing nutes), So we’ll also get to see if that causes any issues. If not, I’ll call Prescription Blend “stoner proof” for the most part.
...I only mixed 5 gallons, and have a 12 gallon Rez, So it won’t be any issue to cut it down to 1/2 strength if needed.

pics will come shortly

My original set up was going to be a 30 gallon, two pot recirculating deep water culture set up... I’ve got water pumps and air pumps and Nike pumps and...yeah. It’s friggin’ early lol.
