Dialing In MEGA CROP for Auto's

@pop22 i remember that you run the MC 1part and sweet candy. Is the sweet candy only for flower? Or do I run candy with my MC 1 part from start to finish? Hope you don’t mind me tagging u I just remember that you run the one part

Sorry, I don't use the Sweet Candy or anything other than Megacrop. And you can tag me any time!

Thank you maybe someone else will chime in with some info ab using the two together

Don't use SweetCandy myself, but still having a bunch of MC1 so i've searched many journals to see how to use it best and what i've found is many use SweetCandy with it from the beginning till the end... an example is this sched (cred: Bushmasterar15):

"1) Preparing Coco - If using Coco bricks, I moisten coco with Greenleaf Megacrop 2g/gal, Sweet Candy 1g/gal, Greenlife 1ml/gal, Earth Juice OilyCann Calmag 8ml/gal, and fill pots that is normally a few days before I start to germ seeds while running lights in tent to get everything warmed up. Then I put seeds in for a 24hr soak most crack and start showing tails in that time. I then use the same mix nute solution to give each pot 1.5L each, after that I make a hole to put in 1tsp Mykos, fill back in and make a 3/8-1/2" hole with chop stick for seed to go in. Place seed in and lightly water around seed with maybe 30ml. Now the wait begins for sprout.

2) Sprout to Day 15 Once it's up at Day 5 I'll give each pot 500mls of Greenleaf Megacrop 2g/gal, Sweet Candy 1g/gal, Greenlife 1ml/gal, Earth Juice OilyCann Calmag 8ml/gal, then at Day 10 they receive 750mls-1L, since I use the airdomes they get turned on at day 15 and each pot gets 1 - 1.5L

3) Day 20 I mix up 5-6 gallons for the reservoir Greenleaf Megacrop 3g/gal, Sweet Candy 1g/gal, Greenlife 1ml/gal, Earth Juice OilyCann Calmag 8ml/gal and turn on to fill Autopot trays. From the reservoir I'll take maybe 1L for each pot for final top watering just to make sure the coco is saturated and will start bottom feeding from the trays. This res fill normally lasts 7-10 days before I mix up a new batch.

4) Day 27-30 - I mix up 10 gallons for the reservoir Greenleaf Megacrop 4g/gal, Sweet Candy 1g/gal, Greenlife 1ml/gal, Earth Juice OilyCann Calmag 8ml/gal. This is my normal for the remainder of the grow besides adding in Greenlife Bloom 17/17 at 1ml/gal once some flowering has begun. "

I’ll add that there was a change in the Sweet Candy formula (I found this out after reading through the forums). From what I've gathered, the older version, which is what I have, was supposed to be used as a start to finish supplement. But they changed it so that the newer formula was more of a bloom booster for soil grows, whereas bud explosion was the bloom booster for hydro or soilless grows.

That all being said, they really don't ellude to this on Greenleaf's website, or reflect it in their feeding charts. So I'm not too sure what to believe.

I use Megacrop v2 and I add Sweet candy at half strength throughout the grow. When I start seeing the change over to flowering, I add in Bud explosion and run all 3 til the end.
I also recently picked up the Sea kelp as well, which I use for foliar spray through veg, and uncertain whether I will be adding it to the mix in flower as it's already fairly high in K.

Thank you both that is a lot of useful information. Yea I had read up on it also and had seen it gone both ways. And the reason why I asked if it was for flower only is because on the back of the bag it says that it helps in flower. I’ll just keep using start to finish which is what I’ve been doing. Thank y’all for the help tho

I've found the sweet candy to help with minor def'c.
Mostly with low Magnesium and calcium in the 1 part formula.
Having said that.
I usually just start my feed mix with 50 to 70ppm of epsom. Then top up with MC to
550ppm.
3 weeks after germination to harvest.
Remember to keep your PH around 6ish.
No need to be exact, but it helps.
Unless your city water smells like a public pool.
That will be fine too.
Don't over do it with the nutes.
Then there is no need to flush, or waste.
Kinna like over feeding a kid, then starvation a month before prom night
You get my point

Thank you @GeorgeCloney i have been trying to add 1/4 tsp of Epsom in my feeding and it seems to be working out a lot better than when I was using cal mag. And I have been keeping the mc sc and everything to 550 and below! Thank you so much for the explanation. I appreciate it

I think I may try this out. I've seen a few people supplementing MC with epsom and I've just recently picked some up. I've wondered if this may be able to balance out the rest of the nutrients and prevent the issues I seem to see in the first few weeks transitioning into flowering. Previously I've just been using Sweet Candy, hoping the extra Mag in it was enough. If I continue using SC, should I only add a bit of epsom? Maybe 25-50ppm extra?

@GeorgeCloney do you have any journals up?

@Mañ'O'Green . Have you ran into deficiencies with calcium or magnesium using the 2 part or have they corrected that issue by adding more into the 2 part formula?
