Defoliation

So I have this Forbidden Runtz that is growing like a jungle and have been taking fan leaves off here and there but since she’s entering flower I’m trying to figure out the best way to go about Defoliating. Any suggestions would be very helpful so thanks in advance.

You can pluck whatever leaves that are covering your precious bud sites. Your plant looks very healthy and at the right stage to start heavy defoliating.

How thick on average are your branches? They need be bottom pruned first to remove any thin or small branches that won't produce.

You look to be in early flower, idk I'm not much for defoliation on small plants especially with those thin leaves. The plant would open up a lot just removing the branches that are going be nothing but larf. Like I can see through the plant in the pics, I'm not of the opinion any leaves need to be removed in this plant unless they are getting cut off with a branch.

See that is what I would rather do. I defoliated my Wedding glue and PB cookies and they responded nicely but this plant… no matter what I remove more leaves come back and with this being my first grow I got the environment dialed in nicely. Just picking brains to see what the best approach is for this one! Thank you

If the leaves keep growing back after defoliating,keep plucking them.

I have a forbidden runtz going at the moment too and its well into flower. It was too short and bushy and I cut off a bunch of leaves that were covering smaller buds,gave it a feed and it helped it immensely.

I've had other plants that needed to be defoliated heavily 4 to 6 times throughout their whole life,even nearing harvest.

IMHO, with correct pruning and only having the one plant with so much light and space around it you don’t have to remove many branches (lollipopping) and won’t end up with larf.

I'd still check for thin branches, those low ones not reaching the canopy don't look promising.

I'm curious if your runtz is the same as mine.
If you rub the stems or stalk on mine,they give off a horrid smell,like toxic anus.....but the buds themselves smell like sweet fruity heaven lol

I just find it funny and odd that the stems make my hands stink like the worst thing ever but the buds smell so damn beautiful. Is yours the same??

Idk I’ll let you know in a little when I get back to my house… I just know out of the 3 plants I’m growing she has grown the bushiest and know matter what she won’t stop producing more leaves lol

I say wait a week, then remove any fan leaf with a stem you can get to. That's just me though. Plant is beautiful BTW
