So it looks like my a+b base nutes together are 4-3-9, and then my flower nutes are 4-0-2. Seems kinda strange since I figured the flower nutes would have higher potassium? There is another product I have called top booster which is 0-7-6 and the nutrient schedule calls for it to be applied in a single large dose during week 5 of flower. Is the single large dose of P-K what triggers them to go from veg to full bloom as autos? Obviously my feed schedule is based around photo plants.

I'm not too sure about the nutes you're using, but the dose of PK isn't what triggers flower. The plant goes into flower automatically. Those ratios on the nutes seem very strange, but I wonder how long you're supposed to feed the a & b base nutes for? If you're meant to feed them through early flower, then perhaps those ratios aren't so odd. Is that Canna A & B nutes?

I use the General Hydroponics nutrient line. I mix 3 parts. So that gives me a lot of control.

I tend to keep the grow nutrients at least through the stretch. Then I move to my transition next which is roughly equal NPK. As I move into flower I start dropping the N. My PK stays up from pre flower to late flower, where I really boost it.

I wouldn't rule out your nutes yet, you may have minerals in the mix that would make sense of those strengths. For instance, I add cal/mag all through the grow and my cm is high in N. So if you have a good mineral mix your flower N may not be too high. In which case you might want to use that bloom booster you have. I can't see why it's a one time shot unless it tweaks hormones aggressively.

Must be some growers know your mix around here.

Ok so it looks like my nutrient chart continues with even higher levels of the a+b nutrients through flower and adds the bloom booster on top of it. This seems like a lot of nitrogen going into flower and I use calmag that also has nitrogen. The high ok mix says to add it for 1 week at 3 weeks before harvest. I think I am going to slowly start adding in my bloom booster this week and if I'm getting too much N I will start cutting it out of my base nutes. I want to keep going with the calmag through the whole grow. Then next week when stretching stops I will give it that heavy dose of PK with the top booster and see what happens.

Oh ye, I always forget you're using those H&G nutes. It sounds like you've got a good plan in place. I don't like the N in calmag during flower either, but I am wondering if it's possible to cut out the calmag during flower and use Epsom salt instead. I just worry that it might not be enough Ca & Mg

Yeah I didn't realize that the Cali-magic had N until after I bout it. I'm sure the plants still require some in flower though. The Nute line does have me feeding the base nutes all the way through flower too which also has N. I think what I'm gonna have to do is just make up my feeds with the essential components and then adjust my base nutes up or down depending on what's making the girls happy. First grow with these nutes so I'll just see what works.

Oh really? I was actually looking for cali-magic because I thought it didn't have N. I think trying to read our plants is the best way forward. I do obsessively test ppm and pH, but I hope to do that less as time moves on
