New Grower Danielsaaan’s Third Grow

Thanks for the reply. Still using FF (this will be my last grow with it). I usually wait until the pots are light to water again, or til the soil surface is dry an inch or so down. Got too paranoid of overwatering from the last grow. Trying to find a happy medium, but apparently can’t find it! I’ll be watering them after work today. Plain water with wetting agent. PH 6.5-7.0. Which will be just before lights on. They’re big enough to water til runoff now without worry, I imagine, so hopefully I can find a groove!
Yeah the first few weeks it's a bit tricky but once the roots fill out I tend to overwater rather than under as the plants don't mind once they get to a certain size.

Day 21: Watered til quite a bit of runoff -- a couple inches away from the stem. Water and wetting agent only. That stuff works really well. PH 6.9.

Also upped the PPFD to 450 - bringing my DLI to 35.64.

Will post an update in a couple of days. Hopefully they look better then!

You need to get over your hydrophobia, LOL it is very hard to over water in cloth bags, because of how easily they do drain. You want the most minimal of runoff as it carries nutrients along with it. I like to water in stages, half and half, ten to fifteen minutes apart. Second watering should be slower looking for the start of bottom drips and then stop.

You do not want the soil to dry out as it will kill all the good microbes in your soil and the roots themselves.

Yep, wth soil underwatering is worse. I would really recommend trying to bottom feed in the future since watering seems to be your biggest concern. At the very least it will give you an idea of what the proper moisture level is and how much water they are drinking each day. Its helped me to not focus on feeding the plant, but managing the soil.

Being in a peat based soil myself, I shoot for a pH of 6.5 for all waterings. I use 5 gal Rain Science bags. For the first couple weeks I give about a quart of plain water every 3-4 days applied in a ring an inch or 2 from the edge if the pot. You want the roots to grow and stretch for that moisture. By week 3-4 I'm giving a gal of water every 4-5 days. I try to pick the pot up and judge from there. If I can't move it, it doesn't need water. Once you do it a few times and feel the difference in dry vs wet weight then you'll feel more comfortable. I also don't feed my plants till a couple weeks into flower. Unless you are reusing soil, they usually have enough in them to keep them fed through veg.
