I was wondering about soil recycling the other day. If a fella was to throw his old soil in a big tote like that after derooting it of course and he tossed old bananna peels and apple cores in it would that be advisable and what else could you throw in it to get it back in shape?

I believe it was @Feenix that suggested sprinkling a little oatmeal on the top of soil to encourage microbiol activity .
