So I've had a tote set aside to throw my used soil in after grows to be reamended and reused at some point...I made a rice wash for my AvT and took the rice that was soaking in the cheesecloth and dumped it in the tote...A week later, just lifted the lid to give it a good stir, which I do every so often...and was greated with life..The rice has been smothered by mycelium and the tote walls are dripping..Can't wait to see how this soil performs on the 2nd cycle.

Despite me being only at 45thN, my understanding is its very similar, even colder here than 50N+ in europre.

yep 45´north is the border to southern europe .... the alps is at roughly 45´

Someone told me its the updrafts from the sahara that keep it warmer in much of northern europe versus here. The weather here is quite extreme on both ends of the scale...hot in the summer(well some/most summers) and cold and snow in the winter!

na it's an ocean current called the gulf stream , that does that ...

and also we (at least here in Denmark) have a costal climate vs a continental climate ...

in short our weather is governed by western winds that are always above freezing even in midwinter .

so landmass never cools much beyond zero c:pass:

sup stoners.

I just mixed up a batch of potting soil, April is just around the corner. I'm gonna plant a garden for salsa and chilli canning this year I think. My GF is supposed to be putting together a list of plants for the recipes she wants, and I get choose the cultivars and stuff. Now I just need to remember to turn it every few days and keep it moist.

the sahara

the Sahara does provide nutrients in both Europe and across the Atlantic .... new soil studies on the volcanic islands in the mexican gulf shows almost 50 % soil mass from africa ! so a desert in one part of the world feeds another continent :bighug:'

boom knowledge !! :eyebrows:

100 rep to jar !! i see it

and another 100 for exesive use of !!
