Outdoor Crow's GG at 56ºN

Your thread has got me scouting a few plots for next season lol
I’ll drop u a dm for advice at some stage.
Any time mate! I haven't done much outdoor weed growing, did some autos in a polytunnel last year. This is my first big attempt at a guerrilla grow. But I've been growing fruit and veg at my allotment for many years. That experience has been really helpful. Also camping, hiking, bushcraft skills come in handy.

So my advice is start off small, if you've got a garden or an allotment, get into that and learn what works for your microclimate. Then growing weed isn't that different from growing tomatoes or peppers... :greenthumb:

Also, plenty of advice and diaries online. Not many from northern latitudes but they are out there.

I'm not far off myself, If I can find a decent plot, I'll do it. I did have an Island in mind. I had the intention of using self watering pots and bio tabs as visiting comes with its own issues.

The problem with pots is they'll dry out quicker. I have used planters where the soil can't be accessed at the railway line, but otherwise it's usually better to plant straight in the ground.

I'll make a note of that :toke: , the self watering ones I have should in theory hold a weeks worth of water, 7litres in total. If it was really hot you might get 4 days, so something for me to plan around.

If it's an island in the middle of a lake, the water table will be quite high? If it was me, I'd just stick them in the soil. Less likely to dry out, blow over in wind...

Finally finished planting the bramble plot this evening. Well, apart from the Triton Biscotto Lime mum, she's getting some UV in the veg cab for the rest of this week before going out. Trying to avoid the fate of the poor Special Kush mum. Anyway, the plot is finally taking its final shape for this season. The girls are doing okay, I gave them all a bit of water again, but they really need some rain as the soil is dry as dust.
:(
So if a few of them are looking a bit hungry, it's probably down to lack of moisture and thus lack of nutrient uptake. Hopefully the forecast precipitation will in fact show up later this week...

Unless it turns out really sunny and dry, I'll not be back to this plot until at least next week. Which is a bit of a relief, I can get on with other things for a change.
:)

Went to the railway plot this afternoon. Nice to see the girls during the daytime for a change. On arrival the Fast Serious 6 Glue was leaning backwards at an angle of about 25º to the vertical. Maybe a gust of wind, foxes (saw a family group of five further down the line) or could be the top is getting a bit heavy. I righted the girl, and made a stake from a tree branch to try and stabilise her. Will need to revisit soon to brace the stake and cage with something as it can only go so deep due to the granite chippings. I couldn't visit the Short Term Amnesia as there are builders working nearby that plot and thus wrong time of day, only possible in the evening or at weekends. I'm going to give her another week at least, see how she gets on.

Anyway my objective was to chop the Mandarin Panties Auto, she's 92 days old and had an extra week to ripen buds. She was ready to harvest, and not a single spot of mould or rot either. Couldn't have wished for better, except the skies opened while I was there, so got a bit wet. So that's just three girls left at this particular plot. The Joshua clone and Fast Serious 6 Glue are flowering, the C99 x Blueberry Ealy Version still in veg. I gave all three a top dress of chicken manure pellets, and the two flowering girls got a root drench with tomato feed too. The FS6G has maybe another month or more to go, if the breeder's guidelines are accurate. She's bulking up her buds but lots of white pistils. Joshua is fattening her central cola nicely, but probably still some way to go also.

I will be planting out some Sawney Bean autos down here, at first in the big planter further down the line, where the RK62 used to be. Then maybe put a couple at this plot too, now I have some spots free.

Took some @Sawney_bean autos down to the railway plot today. Put them in the planter where the RK62 had been growing. Three SOS, and one Small Lecter. Also checked on the Short Term Amnesia further along the line. She's doing great, I will let her ripen for another week at least before chopping. Trekked to the other plot, to see how the Fast Serious 6 Glue was after staking her on Wednesday. Seems to be just fine, the top cola is getting there, maybe a few weeks still to go. The line between this fast semi-auto and a longer flowering full auto is quite blurry, it must be said. I'll come back in a fortnight most probably, take the STA and plant out some more @Sawney_bean creations.

It’s funny u should say that lol I got a fishing lake near me and there’s an island in the middle which I spotted the other day lol
I use to get allot of weed off of swamp bogs I would till them up and add perlite and vermiculite put the clones ten inches a part I would use time release as soon as the roots hit the water. I know you are north but something I said might help peace.

Checked in on the Ducksfoot girls as I was in the area. I wanted to see if some of the Auto Ducks were ready to chop, and also how the Frisian Duck mum was getting on.

The Auto Ducks are all 98 days old. The two by the apple tree were pretty much ready. The smaller, spiky one was finished, so I took the whole plant. The larger, smooth leaved girl had a lot of faded, yellow, dying fan leaves. I removed these, then inspected the buds. Still a few white pistils at the tops of the uppers, but given the heavy rain forecast for tomorrow, and wet week ahead, I decided to harvest the uppers as they were pretty much cooked. I left the lowers to ripen up a bit as they were not ready.

The two hidden Auto Ducks were a pair of contrasts. The smaller of the two was lying on her side, the cage having been knocked over. Reckon it was foxes as I hear their calls and see them a lot round there. I righted her, replaced her cage and checked for damage. One lower branch had snapped at the stem joint, so I removed it. Some leaves on the side closest to the ground had been munched by slugs, indeed I removed a couple of tiny ones. Decided to leave her for at least another week as she's nowhere near ready. The larger Auto Duck was fine. Steadily getting taller, the main cola getting quite large, but again a long way to go until she's ready to harvest. Some lower branches were trying to push through the cage too. This one looks promising, and I think the plot where she is has some stealth grow potential for next season - autos only because it is shaded from September onwards.

The Frisian Duck mum has grown quite a lot recently. She's really thriving now, so the cable tie did the trick. She'll definitely need training, so outdoor ScrOG it will be. Just as soon as the lowers on the big Auto Duck have been taken... In the meantime I gave her a top dress of chicken manure as she looked a bit pale.

Some of the buds from the larger Auto Duck were quite impressively large. While inspecting them in the evening sunshine, I picked a bright green caterpillar out of one... No mould anywhere on either girl. It's a real outdoor strain this, much better outside than in a polytunnel I think.
