Outdoor Crow's GG at 56ºN

Headed to the bramble plot this evening, with two Guerilla Gold Pie Fast from the veg cab. Also took some compost and liquid seaweed. Dug over a bit of the "mound" in the centre of the plot and planted the two new girls up. Gave all the plants a bit of extra compost as a mulch. The soil is really dry again, I think it drains quite fast. Also there's not been much rain lately - was forecast to rain while I was there, dark clouds overhead but nothing happened.

The Super Kush mum I planted last visit looks nearly dead, unfortunately. Saw something similar with the Triton Biscotto Lime clone at the embankment plot, a mixture of transplant shock and not being used to the UV rays from the sun. I hope she recovers, but it doesn't look good at the moment. Think she was at the windowsill too long, much milder conditions. The Super Kush clones by the window now may need to be put under lights for a bit before going out, so they get some UV. The Joshua mum has a little bit of the same issue, but only partly affected and otherwise looks healthy.

All the other girls are fine. A few more yellow or dying leaves on the BCN Critical XXL Fast. The Frisian Duck clone seems to have settled in well and is growing, though still small compared to her neighbours.

Guerilla Gold Pie Fast x 2 before going out - leaves a bit dark, may have overdone the grow nutes

Was just looking back over my pics to check the last time I was at the embankment plot, and it's over a fortnight. So I'll visit this evening, and plant out four autos which are nearly a month old now.

Also noticed in the pics that the girls at the bramble plot have doubled in size in just over two weeks. So something must be going alright down there... 😊 Wonder how tall these girls will be by September?

Wasn't sure what to expect at the embankment plot, given the previous drama (see earlier posts). I needn't have worried, all the girls are doing just grand. Amazingly well in fact given the gales, rain, and generally crap weather we've been having. I suspect that the clay soil suits them, even with all the stones in it. Clay holds a lot of nutrients, I know this as my allotment is heavy clay too. The only thing I regret slightly is the positioning and spacing of some of the taller girls. Not a problem just now, but come September the sun will be lower in the sky and then there might be issues of shading and maybe even overcrowding.

Anyway, I planted the four autos, leaving a couple of spaces for CBD strains that I'll put there as soon as they're big enough. I gave all the girls a teaspoon of continuous release fertiliser granules, a top dress of compost, and a drench with liquid seaweed. I did a bit of weeding round the girls too. Heavy rain forecast for the weekend, so I put a bucket in a corner to collect water, weighted with some stones and tied to the perimeter fence to stop it blowing over.

That's it for now, I'll return in a fortnight and see how they're all getting on.

Unlike normal folk, I wasn't out on the town last night. Instead, yep you guessed it, I was down at the bramble plot in the rain. :wall: Anyway, managed to extend the perimeter fence to accommodate the extra plants that are coming in. Planted up two Citrus Burst. Just another four or five plants still to go, then I will leave the girls to their own devices for a couple of weeks. Still a bit concerned about the poor quality of the soil here, but needs must. If this grow finishes successfully, I'll need to consider other strategies if I decide to use this plot again. Maybe bottomless pots or something like that. Will be time consuming bringing soil in, but stretched over a few months in the winter should be manageable.

Planted another couple of girls from the veg cab down at the bramble plot this evening: Kush Mintz, and the first of three Shaman. The forecast heavy rain never materialised today, so I took some water to give all the girls a wee drink. The soil seems very free draining, quite sandy and gritty. So even when there is rain, it dries out pretty quickly. I suspect this is why the girls are hungry, not enough rain to wash the dry ferts into the soil. Fingers crossed the rain they say is on the way from Tuesday actually arrives.

The Super Kush mum is still just about alive, hopefully she'll fight back. Quite a few yellow leaves lower down on some other girls, again the relative lack of rain and nutrients most likely cause.

Always so busy bro! How do u transport the ladies down there? I’m sure u have had some broken stems lol

They go in a cardboard box, which I carry on my bike. I then have to walk to the site, climb over a wall for the bramble plot (fences for the embankment and railway plots) with compost, water, small tools and plants. I have spade and fork stashed on site at the plot. No broken stems so far, except the Frisian Duck mum when I tried LST on her. No dead plants yet either, though the Super Kush mum is on the edge.....she might recover, might not. I have a lot of clones from that girl, hope she survives.

The planting out process is a bit stretched at the moment because these girls were in the veg cab for quite a while and got to over a foot in height. Earlier plantouts I took smaller plants in larger numbers, like half a dozen or more. I just can't carry those numbers of larger plants. Nearly done though - tonight I'll plant out the last two Shaman and that'll be it for the bramble plot for at least a week.

Next season I hope to be a bit more prepared in advance. This time around, my plans were thrown off when my plot was compromised in May, just before planting was supposed to start. So I'm behind with quite a lot of things compared to where I thought I would be.

Your thread has got me scouting a few plots for next season lol
I’ll drop u a dm for advice at some stage.

I'm not far off myself, If I can find a decent plot, I'll do it. I did have an Island in mind. I had the intention of using self watering pots and bio tabs as visiting comes with its own issues.

It’s funny u should say that lol I got a fishing lake near me and there’s an island in the middle which I spotted the other day lol
