What a read! This thread is such a great story. And now cops, possible busted growers, excitement indeed. Stay safe out there. Maybe those trail cams aren't a bad idea. I've seen a few with bluetooth/wifi. You could check before heading down make sure it's empty.
Problem is I have several different sites, that would mean multiple cameras. It's pretty quiet where I grow. Reckon I would spot or hear anyone well before they noticed me. The coppers never saw me, they were too busy talking to each other and carting off plants.

A wee postscript to yesterday's adventure.

After visiting the plot, I stashed the box and some stuff on the bike, and headed to a nearby Mickey D's drive-thru to get a bite. As I was waiting for my order I noticed a guy seated, eating. Balding, light blue shirt. When I sat down by the window (keeping an eye on my bike) he got up, blew his nose loudly (I hate that, so rude!) which made me look over. He was wearing a suit, and under his arm was a hi-viz waistcoat. But the shoes: Dr Marten's air soles. Bear in mind it's mid-summer. Okay, up here that's not so hot, but still, who wears DM shoes with a suit?

1. Coppers
2. Prison officers
3. Security guards (ex-coppers)

Bingo! He was the plainclothes from the drugs bust. Must have just finished his shift and grabbing a bite. A bit like me, in fact. I watched him (discreetly) as he headed out and walked past the window, presumably to his car.

Ships in the night and all that. Did he clock me from earlier? Possibly. I mean, the guy's a cop, a detective even. Just goes to show the need to stay alert to your surroundings going to or from a grow.

HEY. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

:peace:

U said u had tarpaulin or plastic sheeting as such, I’ve seen make shift water butts in bushes and trees before. Have a Google and u should find a couple too. I’ll have a look to see if I can find a pic too.
Yeah, good shout. I had started to sort out a water bucket at my earlier plot back in March, the one that got blown. Might need to do something similar at a couple of plots while we have all this rain. I have a water source nearby for the railway plot, that'll be my next visit.

I can remember seeing 1 where they had dug a hole lined it with the sheet but raised the sides with logs. (Around the top of the hole) used the logs as the weight to hold it down.

Was gonna do something similar at the blown plot, got some pond liner. Will probably just take some buckets this time, got enough digging to do as it is! :smokeit:

Visited the railway plot this evening as it was a rare dry day. Earlier than usual, I wanted to be able to see properly. Given how much rain we've had over the past week and a half, I feared the worst. But I was pleasantly surprised. The girls are almost completely free of any rot or mildew. After a thorough inspection I only found a couple of really small pieces of mould on two plants. Quite a few leaves munched by slimy beggars, but that's all. As the forecast is for another four days of rain, I was also looking to see which autos might be finished, or near enough to harvest.

Nearly all the autos were ripe and ready. The Mandarin Panties Auto still has a way to go yet, loads of white pistils. So I'll let her cook a while longer. There's another dry day supposed to be coming in five days, so I'll wait until then and see how she is. The Nightmare wasn't quite ready, but near enough. Also a wee bit of rot on a very low down bud. So I took her down, somewhat reluctantly, but better safe than sorry. I harvested all the other autos, except the MPA and the Short Term Amnesia that got munched early on - I'll let her grow a while longer, see if she catches up.

I reckon the reason why there's so little mould despite all the wet weather, is airflow. The railway is quite open where my girls are, so even though they get wet the breeze stops the mould, at least up to a point. The embankment plot is more sheltered, and of course even though I grew some of the same strains there, they spent longer in the veg cab so that probably didn't prepare them so well for the outdoors conditions.

I'm pretty pleased to get an intact harvest. Particularly impressed with the RK62, amazing yield for such compact plants. I will grow that strain again for sure, maybe with more soil, see how big it might get. Not a single speck of mould on any of the Soviet Finland girls either. Also got a truer representation of the other strains, they fulfilled their potential better. That's partly environmental, but also they had more time to grow in the outdoors and acclimatise. The Seedstockers strains, for example, are taller with chunkier buds.

So that leaves just five girls down by the railway. Joshua clone and Fast Serious 6 Glue are flowering, but not the C99 x Blueberry EV yet. I'll probably chop the two autos when I visit next week.

Some pics. Well quite a lot of pics. But hey, it's the last hurrah for most of these girls.
