Outdoor Crow's GG at 56ºN

Yeah bought a cheap trail cam last year. Haven't used it so far.

I mean, if somebody's going to steal my plants, or rip them up vigilante style, or the pigs take them away, that's that. Getting them on camera isn't going to stop them. What am I going to do? Put a contract out on them?

I have a few plots now, no point worrying. If it all goes to shit, well I've still learned a lot...
fair enough lol
U will know your plots obviously and I suppose it’s the gamble with guerilla growing in general lol

I think the trail cam isn't a bad idea at all. If someone does come by you may not be able to do anything about it but! I'd feel better knowing if it's one bloke, or a group, or the police.

If one guy accidentally stumbles onto it you could at least see if they are interested or if they just bug off in terror. Especially if you see them multiple times. Could be cheap insurance. Ah well... I'm a paranoid old coot so/

Okay, another update for you lovely people. Was down at the auto / early / fast plot this evening. Tried to get there while there was still some nice sunshine around. It's been a fortnight since I last visited. Was a bit nervous that I might find sickly or dead plants. But, dear reader, I was very pleasantly surprised. Almost shocked. All the girls are doing absolutely great.
:)
I was amazed to see how healthy they're all looking. The most impressive was that poorly wee Triton Biscotto Lime clone. Two weeks ago, she looked almost a goner, but there were some small new shoots. Well, you'd never have guessed she'd been unwell. Totally amazing! A tough girl for sure. I think this strain could just do really well outdoors.
:yep:

Anyway, some pics. Mostly in focus too! Wonders will never crease...

The sight that greeted me on arrival. Quite a few weeds sprouting after all the rain, so I weeded the plot before feeding all the girls. Those in bloom got tomato feed, those still vegging got Miracle Gro. There are continuous release granules around each plant, but this was just a wee treat for good behaviour. Also trimmed back some overhanging vegetation to the north and east.

I found a couple of bits of rot on two small lower buds on a couple of autos. Some strains are not coping so well with the humidity and rain after beginning flowering indoors. Still, most of the autos are nearly finished, buds look ripe. So I might be back soon to harvest those that are ready,

Looking at the forecast, it's rain for much of the next week. That's fine for vegging, but I'm worried about the autos. I might harvest a few that seem to be finishing up. Possibly a bit early, but the alternative could be that I end up with mouldy mush in ten days' time...

They're only 67 days old today and seem to be ripening up rapidly. Conditions were a bit harsh last month, so maybe the buds haven't had ideal development. Also this plot's a bit of a sun trap, so that could have cooked them a bit faster.

Sunny weather tomorrow supposedly, so might be a good opportunity to chop some of the autos that are a bit further on...

Anyone who has been following this diary closely (okay, that's just me) might recall that I am growing some auto regs from Soviet Finland. The odd thing is, out of eight plants, only one was male: a Short Term Amnesia. Originally I was going to do outdoor open pollination of both SF strains, but with only one male that wasn't really going to happen. I grew him by the window and collected some pollen.

Given how wet it's been lately, rather than try and pollinate my outdoor girls I've decided to chuck pollen at some clones I have by the window instead. One is already in flower, a magnificent Joshua clone. The other three are still very small: one each of Triton Biscotto Lime, Super Kush and Frisian Duck.

I potted up these girls today: the three smallest into 1 litre pots, and the Joshua into something slightly bigger, I think around 2 litres. They're now in a small tent. I'll keep them on 18/6 for three weeks, which will allow the three smaller girls to veg a bit. The Joshua should continue to flower, given she's flowered under more hours of light per day. Showing her semi-auto character. I'll pollinate part of Joshua first, then flip to 12/12 and once the other three have some buds I'll pollinate them. Don't have a huge amount of pollen but if used sparingly hopefully enough.

Went to the photoperiod plot just before sundown. Planted a Frisian Duck clone, did a bit of light weeding, started clearing an area for two extra plants to go in. Also tried to find an area for the next plot, but it was tricky. This location is really overgrown with brambles, much more so than October when I did a recce. Would be a lot of work to make a plot. Another option is to expand the current area, but I was trying not to make any plot too large. I'll have to think about it more. There are a couple of areas (currently head height brambles) which get really good light. Maybe I need to bring a strimmer next visit...

Some pics. The light was fading so not as clear as in full daylight, also the girls droop a bit as evening arrives.

Plot on arrival - girls are doing fine, they've all grown a bit
