Everything is looking fine for now. It's slow going here at the start but they are progressing. They are above soil now for 4 days.
I'll be updating once or maybe twice a week, should be more to see later.

No root stims or nutes applied. I am probably going to give a dilute amount of maxicrop 0-0-1 in a few days. Will start dilute feeding with the seagrow 26-26-26 around day 12-14 or so, depending how things feel.

Take it easy, thanks for your interest, and happy growing out there. :toke:

By way of update, things are going fine here. Got a new blackstar 240W v2.0 on the way, be here middle of next week--just in time. Temps cooled a few days, now back around 92 in there today but the girls look happy enough. Staying compact at an inch or so above the soil, no stretching. Light is 23" above. No ph meter here, just winging it with the test tube and dropper kit trying to approximate the range with cider vinegar. Not expecting perfection but would like to keep them happy.

No action on the 2nd bean of Massive Midget. A bit of disappointment there, but I'll give it a few more days, then maybe think about trying something else. I was looking forward to tasting that one.

With the tent size, I'd probably want another 3rd panel of LED at some point. I really don't know how much space the Copa and Thai are going to end up wanting--even if they're hammered by me and whatever bending-tying-supercropping they get, they still might end up decent size. I have no experience with them.

I'm still undecided whether I'll put a screen in the tent for scrogging, modular screen for each plant, or just use string and twist ties to bend em down as they come up.

Might stick with 4 plants until day 30-40 and evaluate the space then, or maybe plant a couple of freebies in 1 gal pots so they can give a little bit of nug variety without hogging the space.

Oh wow never seen a sideways tent...but necessity is the mother of invention! Can't go wrong with the lighthouse tent either, I used to rock one of those.

Matter of fact when I started my first auto grow over two years ago I had the same exact setup you have now, so you'd be good to get that third Blackstar, they have actual draw of about 125-130w at the wall.

Hey! Picked up some flash seeds from Choice seedbank on memorial day. Stealth ship showed in 10 days, a friday i think. Threw the copacabana ( freebie) and a love potion in a shot glass that night. Straight to peat in 2 days and they popped the dirt 2-3 days later. Straight to big dirtpots, 10 gal for the copa and 7 fore the love potion. 5 weeks in now and first round of fertilizer recently applied, fox farms, 1/4 strength. Reacted poorly. I have a feeling less is more with these two, especially the copa. Had a little trouble with my exhaust and they got a little sunburned, partially to blame. Excellent structure and growth from the love potion. Shes about 2 ft tall and just starting to throw pistils. The copa is a bit slower, 4 months total i think, and looks great at about 10 inches. I actually wanted the formula one but it was out of stock. I d like to see how the muay thai turns out, please keep posting. So far im very happy with flash seeds, they are running neck and neck with a dinafem white widow and a g13 labs pineapple express. All autos. Gave the copa to a friend who has some outdoor space where i believe it will shine. I have no pics yet, but will try to get something up this weekend. Good luck with your grow, Im subbed! Feel free to reach out as Im just a bit ahead of you by a couple weeeks.
Under a sun systems LEC315 cmh light and occasionally outside but they.ll soon be to big for that.

Hey there 81camaro, I am very appreciative to hear from someone that's grown some of these strains. Thanks for the info on the nutes--you know, I always end up under feeding anyway, and I figured with the sativa genes they probably would want less (less N at least), and with the led lights I think they're going to need less too. I'm going to be extra cautious after what you've said.

What kind of soil are you using, anyway, is it fairly hot?

I've been smoking on some buds here that have decent potency, but only burn halfway down before you need to dump it out and start over. I think they were fed with every amino, meal, booster, finisher and hardener on the planet and while they do give you a buzz they just don't burn or taste like they should. I'd rather go with less nutes and try to psyche the plant into thinking it needs to push hard against the environment to survive, but that is just a theory.

I know there's a lot of people rocking nutus maximus to the very end and it probably tastes as good as they say. I don't have that much experience to be honest, have little experience with autos and no experience with any of these strains so who knows where I'm gonna end up.

That's pretty much why I'm doing this--the scent of adventure. ha ha

I'll look for your pics/grow if you decide to put anything up. Good luck with your stuff, should be the best part of the ride at this point. Hope it turns out nice and dank.

I use neem (and did a drench a few days ago on my lil` window box,), I haven`t noticed any adverse effects on my seedlings (clocked a few fungus gnats, the odd thripp wandering around the surface of the medium and think the borg are active atm (due to a decent, sometimes toooo hot end of June/beginning July!). I`m giving the youngsters a spray each evening (just h2o with a drop of Dr bonners). If symptoms and detection continue, then I will foliar spray with neem solution.

krug, thanks for posting that link about natural pest control. It can't be said enough how important it is to monitor the plants frequently and be prepared to respond early rather than late if something like spider mites show up. They will wreak havoc if left unchecked, and everyone new to growing should consider this and have countermeasures and preventatives in place from the get go.

Updating plants are in good shape. Trying to avoid overwatering, but I never soaked the whole pot at any point and the last watering producing some leaf "cupping" on the Copa and Thai. I know we're not supposed to dry out autos either, so I guess it's an experience learning curve to get the timing and methods down.

The Love Potion has stayed a stella perky girl throughout it all, but the Copa and Thai are presenting sets of under-branch shoots sooner and look promising. The Thai seems to be forgetting the extra water already (after a day).

The plants are now basically 10 days above soil for all intents and purposes.

I did water in a little maxicrop 0-0-1 two days ago, bottle recommended 30 ml per gal, and I used 10ml per instead, and only watered that to the outer edge of the pots because the middle was sufficiently hydrated, but I was worried whether I was making a mistake by trying to keep the edges dry until it was really needed. I didn't want wet steaming mildew fabric pots before their time I guess, so I avoided watering the whole pot at the start.

Here's the Love Potion, it's looked great from the get go. Perky.

Below is the Muay Thai.

Next is the Copacabana. She's still cupping for the extra watering. I guess I'll have to buy her flowers now.

I don't have enough experience with autos to know any different, but I'm thinking they're off to a decent enough start (not pro) so I'll try to follow through and not F them up so we will get to see some nice buds pop out at the end. :weed:

Hey Medi. looking good buddy! I'm going to apologize in advance. Don't want to hijack your thread. So little out there recently on Flash seeds, it's nice to have info in one place. I'll say you have a lot to look forward to, somewhere in the next two weeks I'm sure you'll see a big growth spurt. When I was at that point I raised my lights to induce some stretch. The idea was to spread the branching out top to bottom and allow for better light penetration. This is only my 3rd round, so I'm no expert, but I pulled 5 zs off a Dinafem Blue Kush on the first round using household LED lights, a real success. A soft tasty smoke after a good cure and anyone I smoked with was done after 3 or 4 hits. Highly recommended. I had a Berry Ryder next to it but tripped and broke the stem beyond repair. I pulled it to start 2 photos, a Pineapple Chunk and DP's Brainstorm while the Blue Kush finished. I'm calling it my second round, despite the overlap. About a month into flower, summer temps, high humidity, and a low ceiling in my box did me in. The PC is well documented for being a slow one and I cut it down a little late, thinking I had a nute problem that could be corrected. Despite a good start, the PC didn't get far enough along to really be anything. The Brainstorm suffered the same fate. Transpiration stops after reaching 80-90% RH and they literally choked to death. Lesson learned. I moved my box to provide a higher ceiling and greatly improved environmental conditions. Still, I got nearly 3 zs from the BS, in scrog, and after a 2 week dry and a month cure the smoke is social, herbal and sweet. Being cut early the high is very heady and motivating, a getup and do something buzz after a couple hits. When I smoke it hard I have to look at the walls to see what color they are when I finally open my eyes to remember what room I'm in. No shit. An old stable strain from DP, also highly recommended. This is my third round and I started with a new setup, new strains, a real grow light, filters, etc. Pot sizes are large. Big roots grow big plants, and four 7 gallon dirt pots fit my space quite well. Fox Farm Happy Frog was on sale the day I was shopping and I bought 3 bags. straight to pot, no supplements. I like to work within a system designed to work together to avoid the doubts and questions that inevitably rise when mixing and matching brands. There is an excellent article here somewhere here on the compounding effects of the many fertilizers that get combined in even the simplest nute programs, an excellent informative read worth looking for. Came away from it knowing less is better than more, and I've had to make an effort to slow my hand on the nutes this round. I'm using the fox farm trio once a week at probably 1/8 strength. Cal/Mag is a must indoors, start early and at a high dose. A bit of silica blast every other week. FloraKleen to flush. New in the lineup this round is Terpinator, which I'm seeing very good results from around the web. Time will tell on this one, but I am confident it's gonna be a keeper, my local hydro store guys say they can barely keep it on the shelf. Well let's get on with the show, I'm about 6 weeks from seed with at least a month to go. Good Luck on your grow and don't let any mistakes freak you out. There's always next time, lol. Smoke em if you got em.
