Controlling smell

the darkness preserves the thc, i think

also humidity levels play a big part in drying

Mainemedical: Ok i see. How many degrees. ( C ) is that?

StormsEniGma: Ok, so maybe in a cardboard box inside the growroom? Is it so important that my buds will not be good at all when they are dry? Or is just for the perfectionisme?

But if the temprature needs to be lower that wont work either.

A shame really, got this really nice net to dry in, from secret jardin. Would be nice to use this...

Pardon my english, not that good to write when i dont got my smoke on...

box in your grow room should be fine
as far as humidity and heat goes sure there is an optimum and you can find that on this site somehwere, in the end outside extreme heat, temp ranges and humidy mainly alter the time required to dry as you dont want to have it to wet as it can develop mould wich makes your weed unsmokable, and you dont want it to dry either(though if you over dry you han rehydrate by adding orange peal)
the main thing is you dry to the lever where the stem snaps instead of bends, then give it a good cure from there on in

it you dry and store in light your quality will diminish

nothing beats a carbon filter or ozone generator in the air removal ducting....these 2 things neutralize the smell....the carbon filter ...filters it :D and an ozone generator makes the molecules of scent in the air heavy and makes them fall to the ground/bottom of ducting creating a greasy covering...but both are effective....most other ways are masking methods...
One could fill stockings/long socks with bicarbonate of soda or baking powder as absorbent hanging dangly's....or place an airstone in a bucket with disinfectant OR with essential oils....this will put a countering scent into the air...another fast method of masking scent is to throw a handful of garlic/chilli/curry into a hot pan just before someone arrives...it will overwhelm the nose and inhibit smelling much for awhile....but as mentioned it is a masking agent...
If you can get your hands on a neon sign transformer and some bits N bobs, it is possible to construct a DIY ozone generator [google diy ozone generator]...but it is not advisable to breathe ozone or have it near your plants, so this method is generally best used in the exhaust ducting before the air goes outside...

IMO a carbon filter and exhaust fan is AS IMPORTANT a piece of equipment for growing as the light itself....have you considered an odor sok?

Just thought I'd update everyone on my situation. The tea tree, vinegar and baking soda seem to be working great. My whole house smells like tea tree oil and I can't smell anything outside anymore :D
