Have a great time in the Key West. St Paddy's Day is not too far off.

I have both of the DP you mentioned. I will try them next grow. Also I have the DP Auto Mazar.
So do you have any grow journals I could LURK over?

I have started my new journal. But it is not ready for Prime Time. It needs more input from me. When it's ready I will let you know.

Hey Nosias, looking forward to following your 3rd grow, when you kick off pls include me in your tagging so I can follow. In the meantime, I have a few questions about your Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush experience. I scanned pretty much all of your second grow thread, most enjoyable read & congrats on your final results.

I was REALLY excited about this plant as it grew. Early into the veg cycle it started developing what looked like BLACK centers in all leaf clusters. As it aged and started showing flowers, the color spread until the entire bud cluster appeared black. As the buds developed, the black transitioned to purple, and was one of the most beautiful strains I have ever grown. I got even more purple than you experienced in your grow. The plant in my avatar is BBK.
HOWEVER - as the plant matured, the calyxes opened up, and by harvest they were quite fluffy. As the buds dried and cured, they became even LESS dense, and lost most of whatever poor flavor it had earlier in the drying / curing cycle. It did retain all of the purple color through a two month cure, and the smoke quality is very good - 8 out of 10? but t
he taste reminds me way too much of Mexican dirt weed- you remember, the bricks we used to get in the 70's that was water-cured in dirty assed ditch water while the whole harvest was being taken.
So a few rambling questions for you:
You said your plant developed an intense orange aroma as it matured, and if I recall accurately (I was smoking BBK when I read your thread so my recall might have been off ;) ) you said that aroma stayed through cure? I believe your harvest was mid-December, two weeks earlier than mine. So how is the taste and aroma now that it's cured longer?

How was the bud density of your BBK compared to the other strains you grew? Mine suffered here, see-through wispy.

Your yield was an oz better than mine. I'm happy for you, and that's not in itself so meaningful to me, except that over the last several years I've transitioned to only do single plant grows, concentrating on per-plant yield. M
y yield was subpar, 104g / 3.7oz. cured, when I am used to two to three times that amount per plant in my past grows using the same tent / light / nute system.
I'm curious to figure if I had a bad phenotype that contributed to our differences? I'll drop a couple of my pic's here after this post, for your comparison.

Last, you said none of your plants stretched significantly & I'm looking for clues here.
O
ver the last couple of years, I've begun transitioning from HID to LED lighting. As experience has started making the connections, I've tallied four LED grows have been great bud quality and yield, including an all-time single-plant high of 11.76oz.. But surprisingly, NONE of my LED grows have stretched at all. That 11.76 oz grow never went over 10" above my ebb 'nGro container. Compared to all nine of my previous autoflower grows under HID, in which every one of those stretched. I reverted my BBK grow to HID to test this theory, and it DID stretch.
So my rambling question on this topic is, what was the distance between your plant canopy and your light?
In my past HID experience I've settled around 12 - 14" from the bulb to the plant canopy during full bloom cycle. And virtually all of my old photoperiod grows, and all HID Auto grows, have stretched. Usually 2-3X for photoperiods, and at least 1X for auto's. Using approximately the same spacing for my LED's again, NONE have stretched. So my suspicion(s) with LED is that more distance may be needed to encourage a healthy stretch? But my current grow of Dutch Passion Blue-AutoMazar, with LED at 18 - 20" above the plant canopy, is not stretching either.

I'm going to be watching as many auto grows as I can to see if my theory holds - that auto's won't stretch under LED's as well (or at all???). Do I need to veg all my auto's under HID to encourage a healthy stretch, then finish bloom under LED hoping for increased bud growth and density? Can I accomplish the same thing by raising the LED higher above the plant canopy?

Thanks for letting me ramble through this using your thread as a sounding board. I need to start a thread on this topic and track it diligently until I get to the bottom of this. Probably WILL do that after I return from vacation later in the month (I'm an ORF as well, so I also get to come and go whenever the #~@# I please). But for now, seeing a common thread in the BBK, I figure I'll get started with putting the thought to paper... uuuhhh, magnetic ink, that is :)

Looking forward to your next grow, Bro. In the meantime I'll be in KeyWest for St. Patty's so I'll' have one or three for ya. Until later, may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship, but never in want.

Dude check out blackfin bistro love the Burger's I've had a few of them lol. Also like a couple other places the Cuban coffee queen places are nice too if I'm saying it right and not mixing it up.. also some great Mexican food out that away man when I go I always gotta get the Baja shrimp burritos and grilled corn.

Yeah, I got the Auto Mazar too, but decided to try the Blue AutoMazar first. I need a great blueberry strain for the wife's meds, and since the BBK didn't do what I'd hoped, decided to try the BAM first. It's on day 45, looking frosty but very petite. So I'll be watching your AutoMazar progress while I try to not drool too much.

No journal(s) yet, I'm new to the forum here, and have not taken the time to put one out there yet.
But once I recover from killing off a bunch of weak brain cells in Key West:cheers: I plan to become more active around here.
I do have an intro with some details about my background / what I do, some of my grow results. You can take a look at that here:
https://www.autoflower.org/threads/greetings-and-salutations-afn.64370/ The intro has pics of my Cinderella Jack and Blue Automazar girls, along with a few others.

I like to do my grow journals a bit differently. If I try to keep one up while actually growing, I tend to get sidetracked, fall behind & fail. So I usually document my results through the grow in a grow log, take pic's at key points, and when the grow is done I put it all up at once. Start-to-finish makes a quicker read that way. Just seems to work better for me. Hope to be playing more late March / early April.

I recall reading in your grow thread that you want to grow a lot of different strains & enjoy the variety. I would highly recommend two for you - TH Seeds Auto Original BubbleGum, and Blimburn Seeds Mamba Negra Auto. The BubbleGum has an amazing aroma & high. I've grown it twice and while I never got the pheno that smelled like bubblegum, it was an amazing and tasty skunk. And the Mamba Negra grew the frostiest buds I've ever seen. It made 12% hash by weight of the trimmed sugar leaves, using an ISO quick wash. Highly recommended for concentrates, tinctures, etc. Both are amazing highs as well. So whenever you go seed shopping again, consider those two strongly, they will not disappoint. I have beans from both ready to go into my grow queues for April.

OK My Man, great talking to you, I'm looking forward to seeing your next grow.

Heh heh heh... burgers & shrimp & Mexican food and Cuban coffee & Cinderella-Jack and Green Crack and Indiana BubbleGum. Ohhh Ohhh, microbrews, gotta add that to the list. Hoping I don't get my nose picking and ass scratching hands mixed up....
There is no help for me.

Your second grow certainly outdid the first! Anytime you can pull an average of 4 oz off of autos you are doing good.

It has been a month since I updated this. So here is the update for

Nov 11, 2017
Royal Seeds the Quick One is 50 days old
Royal Seeds Northern lights is 22 days old
Dutch Passion Blackberry Kush and Ultimate are both 36 days old.

Here are some tent shots.
I am using some white reflective plastic as a tent inside a tent. At this time I can keep them all under the square ChilLED Tech LED 400w light.
There are two reserves being used. The RQ Quick one is on one ( bloom nutes) and the other three are on the grow nutes. All of the AutoPots are sitting on 2 inch foam insulation. This is to keep them off the concrete as this is in a basement. There is also a fan I use to blow on the light to keep it cool. The fan has it's own internal fans but at this time I do not use them. The rh is between 32 and 50 and temps between 69 and 70 F. It has been a challenge to regulate both the rh and temps. The 6" fan and filter is a bit big. Even at the lowest speed, with an controller, the rh drops to 30 and temps lower 70's. I now leave two thirds of the front zipper unzipped. This seems to work fine.

Front right is the quick one. Front left is Blackberry Kush. back right is Northern Lights. Back left is the Ultimate.

The quick One has been my most pleasant surprise. This was a free seed and I did not know what to expect. Well it has been a joy to grow. It is 100% happy all the time. It did not care what it was feed. It was dark green from day one. I have not topped this lady. The side branches just grew and grew with not help from me. I do like to bend the side branches and expose more bud sites to the light. I do turn each pot a quarter turn every time I go to visit them. Oh they do like company. So I am there 3-4 times a day. I talk and groom them all.

Quick one is now 11" tall. About 4 days ago she started showing me all of her new crystal. It is starting to have the trichomes all over. It is very nice to see. I remove the tie downs and let here grow for a week and then back on goes the tie downs.

She has been a vigorous grower. OMG there were sugar leaves as big as the fan leaves on her. I have removed as much as I dare over the last 3 weeks. I am concerned about "possible" rot later on. As she is thick, thick, thick as can be. She grew like a thistle. I was amazed and pleased. So again she has been nothing but the easiest plant to take care of. She grows on her own. I want to see how she taste/kicks. If it is as I hope then I could see nothing but quick ones on a future grow.

Look at her main stem. Short and Stout

Northern Lights was given too much water at her second watering. She stopped growing. I then let her dry out for a week and she started to grow. After 2.5 weeks I turned on the airdome and them 2 days later the reserve kicked in. Then she took off. She is putting out some grand branching.

Ultimate was a slow grower. So I topped her. As you can see she is now 6" tall and full of branches. I tide these down and gave more light where I could. I have rather aggressively remove fan and some sugar leaves. She has loved it and responded well. I did remove the tie downs and will let her grow up from here. The leaves are small and very petite. The main stem is very thick

kudos on the tent within the tent... awesome hack :slap:

Blackberry Kush was always a paler green. You can see shades of blackberry color on her new growth and on the back side of her leaves. Like Ultimate she was a bit slow to take off. She is now 9" tall. I also was aggressive with her and I also topped her. The fan leaves have been removed. I have her tied down and I plan to keep her that way until after her stretch. Then I will untie her. I look forward to her turning dark or even black. Time will tell.
