:pighug:
Yes they have a pod of dolphins there now. Spent 3 weeks in Scotland and Ireland this Sept. 3rd time to the Emerald Island.

I do not EVER check the PH in the rez. Quote from pop22 "I see no more than a .2 drift in ph with megacrop. not an amount to fuss over. Saw a lot more than that with other nutes! Last grow I never even bothered to check the res ph, it just wasn't needed. IMO, it seems from my experience that messing with RES ph causes more problems than actually exist. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
I only fill my rez with 12 liters, a little over 3 gals. I use this quantity as it gets too heavy to pour any larger amount into the rez for me . Also I have found that the rez is good for approximately 5-7 days with the 12 liters. I have an in home water softener so the water is 0.00 EC and the PH is 8.4 - 9.7. With the Mega Crop I am following @pop22 process. He wants the EC not to go over 500-525 EC and the PH he maintains is 6.5. So after I add my MC to the 12 liters it comes out naturally to 6.3 - 6.5. This is at 3.62 gram per gallon or 0.96 gram per liter.

This is all based on my 12 liter I start with and how much my light draws water from the ladies.

Great info. Thanks. I have RO water with a starting PH of 6 lol. So I might be using some ph up after it’s all said and done.

I’m also using Coco and will be aiming for a PH of 5.9-6. I thought this was the range for coco.... is there a reason you are a bit higher in PH?

I like the idea of not worrying about checking the rez PH. I didn’t realize @pop22 had been using this method with success. Good to know MC is stable. A little drift up is normal.

So both he and you don’t go over 525ppm? What the typical limit for Autos..... 750ppm/1.5EC?

I also didn’t get my math right of course.... late night! 3.62g/gal is pretty good. I was thinking of going no higher then 4g/gallon and then lower that amount later on with the edition of bud enhancer.

You are just going straight MC correct? No sweet candy or bud enhancer?

I have not heard there was a top limit for an Auto.

Let me start and finish with the words: God I think I have it dialed in !!!!! The growth I have seen is totally beyond my expectations for the past week. The air domes and rez were turned on at week 3 and they took off. The ladies are 6" to 10" tall. Side bar: here is a AFN link to a "test" run by the members of AFN and Auto Pot. They are using it for the first time https://www.autoflower.org/threads/afn-communal-autopot-test-summer-2018.66867/page-71

I am a total believer in Mega Crop also. The only thing I changed for this grow were the nutes. I had great results with Advanced Nutrients but it was expensive and I was using 6 different bottles for the entire run plus Cal/Mg and Terpinator. MC is simple and I am using only 5 grams per 12 Liter ( about 3 gallons).

I am still quarter-turning each pot on every visit to the tent. The ChilLED Tech light is on Veg and is 40" from the top of the coco. The ladies are drinking away. I will need to fill the rez with 12 liters in a few days. The humidity is 58% - 83% and temps are steady between 75 and 79 F. Two ladies were telling me they needed more nutes last week as they were a lighter lime green. Today they all look like they were grown on the Dingle peninsula in Republic of Ireland County Kerry.

These are 2 pics of the Dutch Passion Cinderella Jack. The first is from week 3 and the 2nd one is from week 4. OMG. I have always turned them both on at week 3.

Very attractive gaggle of girls you have there.

When I ran just coco, I used a PH of 6.3 start to finish and that was my best coco grow, I had no PH related issues. I've found running higher PH tends to be more stable.

I can add to that, that currently I'm in hydro and running at a real (meaning properly calibrated and cross checked) 5.9 because everyone everywhere seems to say that 5.8 is ideal for hydro, but I can say that when I used to grow a million years ago in hydro, I ran at 6.3 and it was fine. Everyone seems to agree that hydro should be .5 lower, but no one has explained to me why that is.

I bought an $8 dollar yellow cheap hydro pen from ebay, (the same one that the local hydro shop had for $65) and I will pass on some information that I'm sure others will find useful. This pen sat around for a few months doing nothing. When I checked it with the pH 6.86 calibration power it came with, it was already almost right. However I used tap water to mix it.

Last week I bought some proper pH 7 buffer solution, and calibrated it to that, it was already only .1 out. Then I mixed up a fresh packet of 6.86 powder using distilled water which is what I'm meant to use. I was happy to see that it read 6.9, it only has one calibration screw on it and I'm told in that case it should be calibrated to the closest one that you are going to want to use.

So I was a little worried as to how accurate it would be at 5.9 because that's 10 times more acidic and it's the cheapest meter you can buy. But to my utter astonishment, when I dipped it into the 4.01 it measured 4. Which means to me that the 5.9 reading really is 5.9 plus or minus .1

In other words do not be afraid that these cheap meters are crap. I also found out that they should be stored in the used buffer solution.
