New Grower CBD Auto-grow Journal v1.02

The aluminum pie tins have the elevated edge and the edge that does touch the soil is dry and will be for some time.................but I do get the aluminum leaching and toxicity issues is a good enough excuse to "not take a chance."

The "browning issue" is not really there, I do not believe, thus a photo will likely not show anything. If I have some time tomorrow, I will see if a photo reveals the sake thing I THOUGHT I saw.

Below is a pic of the Styro-Alum-Styro Algae Stopper...

It looks like they should survive for 5 days alone.

...back from my trip. All things look great! When I opened the tent I was pleasantly surprised by several things.
1) I could actually smell the little buggers! Yum!
2) they were not really little buggers anymore, they had grown substantially!

Blue Mistic - (started on April 2nd) was 3.5inW x 2inH just eight days ago. Not it was 4.5inW x 3inH, but had sufferend a setback as a result of the two largest leaves needing pruning.

King's Kush CBD - (strted April 17th) was 2.5inW x 2.5inH eight days ago and was not 7inW x 3.25inH

Blue Cheese - (started April 27) is now2.5inW x 1.25inH

I have mixed a batch of nutes at 65% today, 15%, a increase. I keep thinking the they will be flowering before I get to 100% nute strength if I do not.

Will be moving plants to the floor of the tent at I can not raise the lights ant further for a 24in gap.

I also not cover the humidifier with a black towel to stop or reduce the light exposure to this water.

The plants look great. You should be using distilled water in your humidifier. It will make it last longer and cannot grow algae or mold because it has no minerals in it.

Don't race with your nutrients. You do not need to reach 100% before flowering. You want to continue to increase them by 10% until you see some tip burn then back off 10%. Some strains can go well beyond 100% others may only need 50%. By jumping in bigger bites you may damage the plant with more burn than you want. Remember you are not going to switch to bloom nutrients until you are about 2 weeks past the first signs of flowering. Nutrients follow the plants needs not pushing them. In other words bloom nutrients do not cause a plant to start flowering they just provide the balance the plant needs when they are flowering.

I will dilute the half gallon of 65% I just mixed to ballpark a 60% solution.
I had been toying with buying a water distiller for drinking water. Do you think that the device would be less expensive than buying gallon jugs of distilled water for $1.40/ea.?

$1.40 is kinda steep. Amazon has a distiller for $90.00 / $1.40 = 64.28 gallons to break even not considering time, energy and water to cool and distill. Of course buying bottled distilled water has time and transportation efforts as well. I use about 20 gallons per grow so break even @ $1.40 would be about 3 grows. I get distilled water for $.78 per gallon but I am not willing to run a still.

Yes, $1.40 is very steep in my opinion. and costly. What I had begun to do was to mix my humidifier water with 50% distilled and 50% filtered tap water and a small amount of H2O2. It's most definitely better than tap water alone, but still requires cleaning every 3-4 days to assure no growth.
I don't know that my "logic" of covering the humidifier with a black towel is scientifically correct or not, but it won't hurt.

It's exciting that my plants now have B.O. Granted, it's not the generally pleasant to smell stinky women, but I think this is the one exception. I do not think that these strains are known for stinking up the entire neighborhood. Soon enough I will be using the exhaust fan to moderate temp and CO2, and reducing my carbon footprint by adding some Oxygen into the atmosphere! LOL

...Of to change the oil/filter in my car and find a wrench that will remove the boiler expansion tank as it is giving me some grief.

Also: I have increased the radius of watering from 2in beyond the rockwool to 4in as the roots are definitely moving into this region.

As before with the Blue Mystic Plant one on the bottom leaves is experiencing some sort of issue. I cut a portion of it off so that I could photograph it closely. The previous time these spots seemed to have gotten browner and dryer before I pruned them from the plant.

I can not see ant pest on the leaves. Any clue as to what this is would be helpful.

Looks like something got splashed on it? other then that I don't know. It does not look systemic.
