Indoor CannabsiMingus' ongoing grow thread

Yes - I am able to run 3-4 presses an hour (not really pushing it either) usually when I'm doing other things - like trimming. So that's approx. 2-3 g of rosin which is plenty for me for a while. It's pretty efficient. I don't weigh my squishes so I don't know what the yields are exactly other than noting that it substantially increased using weed that was freshly dried as opposed to 30-60 days into cure.

FWIW, I put some 60-day cure flower into a jar with some humidity packs and raised it from 58% RH to 64% and the yields were noticeably better. Same color (a little dark due to that cultivar plus time) but the rosin was delicious.

It all melts my face off, so potency has not been an issue regardless of cultivar or time - but I have been pressing good cultivars (Blackstrap, Sour Stomper, NCH x SB)
That's exactly what I was looking for pretty much so it sounds perfect! Your feedback has sealed the deal on me getting one. It'll be a few months at least but I'll let you know how it goes when I finally do pick one up!

Nice harvest brother!!! What's your thoughts on the trim bowl?
Thanks CJ! This was the first time I used it for an entire harvest - previously I hand-trimmed the cola tops and used the bowl for popcorn/larf, etc. The first time I used it I was concerned about losing too many trichs and beating the buds up. My concerns are much less now. If the buds are approx. 60 - 65% RH it seems to work well. The sugar leaves are dry enough to come off easily but the bud still has enough moisture not to disintegrate during the trim and the trichs on the buds seem mostly unaffected.

I will be using it for most of my trims now. The savings in time is huge, and I save the trim for edibles. I can still see hand-trimming on some special strains for a few of the buds but since I have moved to mainly dabs I am not as worried about that.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense!! Thanks for the thorough explanation. Have been contemplating on buying one as my harvest are getting bigger.

Update:

Sour Stomper - still making very good rosin with great terps. Haven not smoked or vaped flower yet as it's still curing.

Smoke report - Red Strawberry Banana (Sweet Seeds). I harvested this in April, and it has been curing in Grove Bags since. The flower is delicious. Very smooth, some sweet. I am getting some mint on the back end as well. The rosin is dark regardless of the temperature of the press, so I am assuming there is still a lot of pigments from the flower that are still there. The rosin tracks the flower in terms of flavors - very smooth. Enjoying this cultivar more than I thought I would - will definitely run again.
