This is my first grow.
The seeds are from crop king. Soil is an organic compost mixed with promix wormcastings and coco. Top dressed with worm castings and fed with worm casting tea.
The beans sprouted on November 30 from peat pellets. Transplanted into four inch pots that day. Transplanted again into 2.5 gallon pots on the 11th of December. I am thinking about topping all five plants. Would love some advice on when to do that. It looks like the fifth node is starting now on three of the plants. I am using a 400 watt metal halide and will be moving to a 1000 watt hps once the preflowers show. Temp is between 20 and 28C humidity 40-55% ph is perfect.

Hi and welcome to AFN!

Your plants look good! You and I are about the same stage in our grows, and I’m also growing some CKS autos, just in coco not soil. I topped 1 of my plants above the 4th node, FIM’d one above the 4th, and am leaving the last one to LST only. All done about an hour ago lol.

Greetings and welcome to the group! When I top my plants, I do it just above the 4th node and usually at 14 days old. This will give 8 solid branches.

I am going to wait for two more days before I top the plants. They are all very healthy but have no stretch at all and that will make it difficult to top them. The light is about 18 inches above the plants should I move the light up a bit in order to make them stretch a bit? The attached photos are taken 48 hours apart to show how quickly they are bushing up.

I raised the light on Monday afternoon and topped two (in the front of the photo) of the three trainwreck plants yesterday evening. The candy cane plants(back left and middle) are so pretty I don’t want to go hacking them up I’ll likely just lst them.
