yup

Well damnit guys lmao! You made me break down and order http://www.amazon.com/Control-Wizard-Accurate-Moisture-Meter/dp/B004PDNQOK I will let you all know my soil PH and what not as soon as i get my oregon breathers set up.

Great! Sorry, not trying to make you spend cash. I don't have one yet like I said, but I have an awesome digital meter and can check my runoff. Not quite the same, I still want a Control Wizard just to double check and all that jazz.

You'll love it I am sure.

Hey man no worries I am glad you said something. Id rather not have problems down the road. Plus this meter has a 12 inch probe.which is great bc my breathers are 14 inches wide and 11.75 inches deep. So this meter will help alot i am sure. I will post my ph readings when the buckets are set up. Should I test the PH before i put the soil in the buckets or after?

Go ahead and fill your buckets and water them with plain ph water or root drench, whatever you wanna do and let them sit until you get your meter in. The soil needs to be moist to get a reading so you may have to water again but that's ok. Run that probe basically all the way down, and let it sit for ten minutes to get a solid reading. In containers that big, I would check it in a few different spots around it just to make sure there are no "hot spots'. If so, mix it around good and check again. This info is all from memory, but it originated from Muddy. Just giving him credit and the fact that it's quality info.

This thing sounds pretty bad ass! No batteries required! Uses electronic ground field effect of the earth on two dissimilar metals. No calibration required! Simply make sure that the metal contacts are clean before each use. I'm sure I will like this. Im going to be checking my pots like a nut now lmao!

Yep. I'm sure Muddy can add in on keeping that soil tester in great shape if he sees this tomorrow.
