New Grower Bushmasterar15 starts an outdoor grow

They were getting about 12-13hrs of full sun as they were on the deck without any shade. But we had the monsoon weather hit over the first 30 days of their life. So with the rain and hail on them as seedlings started off the bad juju. Our soil is like a sand clay base. In the garden leaves and wood get run through a chipper then tilled in. But perlite would be better mixed in to give me better aeration.

Do you have access to large hardwood trees like maple, oak, birch? Hardwood leaf compost is one of the best mediums i have ever used.

Sand clay mix is okay, and can be worked with, depending on the density. Do the soil test i mentioned earlier and tell results. In the rainy season...it is rain every day pretty much? How are temps?

12-13 is a good amount of sun!

With all of that rain the medium getting soggy is a very good possibility. Hail too is always a nice treat!! Rain shields bud...only way out of that if stealth allows! The shield i posted a pic of withstood 80kph winds and heavy downpours...cool thing is once you get good at setting them up you can literally do it in 10 minutes...ive set them up on late flowering plants to shield off impending storms so i can get that last week out of them. Shield from the storm and take it down afterwards so it doesn't attract any attention.

could you start earlier and finish before monsoon?

Sorry to see your struggles. The thing i don't like about learning is the small jars! Keep growing! I was discouraged, seemed to be stuck for a couple of years. This season I took @G.Leave to heart and put some his suggestions to work and my growing was reborn!
