Got a pack of these Purple Thai and a couple freebies that I'm gonna run. All but one will be in my big and small sips. 1 will be in a super size sip and another will be sxs with 15 gal Grass Roots pot.
Soil: Coast of Maine Stonington with COM Lobster compost and earthworm castings.
Nutes: Mainly Home Growm Microbe Bokashi, Some Avocado Tech and earthworms
Lights: @Marshydro Sp 150 for the closet gals and Sp 250 for the 2 sxs boudoir gals

01/04 Started out by soaking 2 seeds in water/aloe/peroxide.
01/06 Tails sprouted so I planted them in Sip starters
01/08 1 gal popped her head out
01/10 2nd seed hadn't popped so I went looking for it . Found the seed and it had cracked like a clam but nothing in it. WTF? Then I noticed little baby ants in the cup. Checked the other cup and it was clean. Guess cold weather driving them inside. Bought new batch of ant traps
Dropped the rest of the Thai seeds in water. 2 days later they had nubs/tails put them in the starter Sips
01/16 2nd gal popped but she had corkscrewed so her feet were flyin in the air. Flipped her over and this time stuck a pillow(piece of popsicle stick) under her head . Last one this happened with, I just left her in the dirt and I think it just rotted. Hopefully the pillow will work. Most of the "experts" say you don't need to orient the seeds but I'm callin BS on that. This is the 3rd or 4th corkscrew I've had
01/17 3rd gal has popped in the right side up
All caught up for now

Week 4
Day 35 Got distracted with all the prep we had to do for a speedweek event we had here at the track.
The 3 Dark Planets I had germed did not go well. One poked out of the ground about 3/4" and just stayed that way and withered away. The other 2, the tap root corkscrewed and grew very little in the 3 weeks they've been alive. Instead of fussin with em I just popped 2 Rob Bud Purple B1's. Can't see wastin time and box space. The 2 DP look healthy but just not goin anywhere.
The tiki hut hides an avocado bomb. I always seem to make mor stuffing than will fill in the avocado so I broke up some coconuts to stuff

The 3 Purple Thais are doing quite well. They should be switching to bloom shortly. I've been religiously adjusting water ph so hopefully I won't be seeing any yellow leaf disease. (insert praying hands smiley)
#3 has been topped and ready for lst. With all the work for speedweek I never got a cover on her soooo, I had some swamp oak wood from a fallen tree I had cutup into lumber for some furniture. I figured since they use a lot of oak as a base for mushrooms, maybe I'd try it as a "cover". I soaked the pieces in EM1 for a day. Run it up a pole and see who salutes. She's 10" tall

#1 has been topped and lst. Currently clocking in at 18"

Number 2 girl is in the Grass Roots pot. Again, topped and lst. Got a feeling this will be the last "potted" girl. The stems on sip plants are at least twice as thick as the potted gal. Currently 8" in the air
Since they will be going into bloom, tomorrow I'll give em a fresh coat of compost, castings and some amendments

All for now, D

RocBud Planting
Since the girl in the giant sip stalled, I decided I would try growing 2 plants in this box. See if there is anything to this crosstalk between plants. Also thinking of putting in a small aloe companion plant. BTW this is a 19 gal tote from the Depot
I'm going with my last 2 RocBud Purple Roc Bx1. Instead of planting direct, I soaked seeds for 24 hrs in water w/ a little aloe juice. After I places in unbleached coffee filter with a little liquid from the jar. Folded filter up and placed in a baggy with end open. 32 hrs later 1 had 3/4" root and other 1/2". I dug out a small hole for each and filled it with COM(Coast of Maine) seed starter. Poked a hole with magic marker and added a little VAM. Placed seed with root down--no more corkscrewing please.

Awesome, I'll follow along..them purple roc bx1s are pretty nice. The one I grew and the 2 i seen in person were all different phenos but all got 5.5 to 9 ounces..

World of seeds autos are awesome. Stinks that they got mostly ryders.that Afghan kush Ryder is no joke. Potent. Hoping good things come from this for you. Good luck

To fill out this run I'm going with 2 Wild Thai Ryders from World of Seeds. Soaked in water/aloe for 24 hours and into the coffee filter to germ

With all your seedling problems, maybe you should plant in a cutout solo cup planting and transplant them in this run? That's coming from someone that HATES to transplant anything.
When I was growing most of my family's food, I only transplanted tomatoes and some peppers. Everything else was direct seeded or slips. Just use plain old potting media or unamended non-water only canna grow media.
Just an observation.
