SeedBank :
Mephisto Genetics
Strain:
Bluetoof Special Pheno
Did it autoflower?:
Yes. VERY early... At ~10 days from sprout, causing them all to be miniaturized and grow very small with weak root systems. I am not sure exactly what caused them to dwarf, but it very well could have been my doing (new light, stress, environment, nutritional issues, ect.)
Soil/hydro:
Grown in an Sunshine Mix [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG], amended with Earthworm Castings
Nutes:
Fed a couple of topdresses of dry organic amendments, along with teas brewed with Mammoth P, Sea Green, and Myco Chum.
Light (kind and schedule):
Grown under a mix of Vipraspectra LED's and Chinese COB led's (3500k) at 24 hours throughout the life cycle.
From seed to harvest date: __days
~70 days
Dry Yield: _g:
Each plant harvested between 10 grams and an ounce. Incredibly disappointing in comparison to my regular yields, but I am convinced I did something to make them flower prematurely. Going to have to try this one again soon to see if I can't dial it in and get the yields I seek.
High/Effect Duration:
Nice cerebral effects lasts for about an hour, and the more sedative Indica effects last 2-3 hours. If you smoke lots, it can put you out for a good chunk of the day. She can be a real day ruiner.:smoking:
RATE SCALE: (*) = bad, to (*****) = great
BAG APPEAL: ****
Very nice bag appeal. While there wasn't a great abundance of buds, the flowers the BTS produced were a real pleasure for the eyes. Buds were rather large and spongey with a very desirable calyx to leaf ratio, light green in color and covered in a blanket of resin glands. She is a resin machine. Even when fully dried the buds were so sticky that my scissors would constantly get stuck shut, and they would stick to a wall if thrown hard enough.
THE GROWTH: *
Really wasn't happy with how this one grew, as she flowered way early, and was very fussy with nutrients. Internodes were incredibly tight and finished rather small, and she had some issues with Botrytis. Much of this I attribute to my own mistakes, and I hope to get some tips from the rest of you who have grown this strain as to what you think I could improve in the future. The buds were incredible, but the plants apparently did not like how I grew them. Looking forward to giving her another shot again in the future. Perhaps I will try them in DWC or something to get them to a proper size.
THE SMELL: *****
This is one of my favorite attributes to this strain. She is sooo sweet! Like a mix of mangoes, papaya, and pineapple that was left in the sun on a hot day, then mixed with fresh cut flowers, and just the tiniest bit of skunk. Absolutely mouthwatering.
THE SMOKE:****
Soooooo fruity and delicious. She tastes sweet on the inhale, with a very floral exhale that I can only describe as fresh. Smoke is very smooth and expands nicely in the lungs.
THE HIGH:
Was hoping for a heavy night time buzz, but I was surprised to find that she had a more hybrid like effect. Strong head buzz for the first hour of the high that was very creative and euphoric, coupled with a very enjoyable body buzz. The latter hour of the buzz is much more sedative and focused on the body. Two to three hours into the buzz, I felt relaxed, hungry, and had an overall sense of well being. Very enjoyable evening smoke!
Conclusion: I absolutely love the smoke, but was disappointed on how small she grew. Going to have to give her another go in the near future and try again. I'm sure that once she is dialed in, she can do great things!
