Thanks Muddy!

You are right. There are just too many pest outside. The new grow room will be practically hermetically sealed ;).

So I should not wipe the larger fans with alcohol to kill the mites until I can get a pyrethryrin?

I already have 91% iso ready to go (diluted of course).

But let me know if this is wrong.

Thanks

Good Morning Everyone!

Yesterday evening I went by Home Depot and purchased a Hot Shot Strip and some Ortho Insecticidal Soap. Last night after the concert we went to, I hung the Strip in between the plants and sprayed them down good with the soap. I made sure to get the undersides of the leaves especially well. The soap I used says its organic and can be used on crops up to and on harvest day. Not that I will.

This morning I cannot find a single living mite. I found little lifeless bodies, but no crawling fuckers. :)

Can this stuff really work this fast? I know the eggs are still there, so I will need to continue the treatment.

I do feel much better this morning. My plants look just as they have and the buds are swelling more and more everyday! :)

eggs take a few days to hatch so might give your plants a break and remove strip and not spray again for two days then hit em again to get any that hatched

I think that I am going to keep the strip hanging, as it is supposed to offer continuous control for up to a month. I figure leaving it up will just help me keep em in check, plus it has no odor.

I plan on resoaping again this evening (just to be sure) and then again in five days...

Any thoughts on this?

the soap is cool! i am not to sure on leaving those pest strips in for to long they are toxic! and i hope you are not breathing the air:no:

Insecticidal soap is a contact killer so that's why they are all dead this a.m. No need to do them again for 4-5 days until the eggs hatch out. You probably should do a 3rd treatment another 4-5 days after that to be safe, then give them a little rinse to wash off any residue from the soap.

:booya:Glad to see it worked for you.I had some crawlers in my ffof and used some garden safe insec soap and it also worked well havn't seen any since.

Thanks everyone!

I am very pleased with the results so far. Since I am using two agents I am not sure which is more effective, but I can say that combined they are bitchin'.

Now that I am not in a panic I will go into more detail on the new grow Lab...

Since I only grow for myself and my family I will never have more than six plants at any given time. And I do not plan on having that many for a while. I like having a few select females that I can keep my eye on. Since this mite deal, I am going to be even more paranoid and watchful. Apparently I was not as close-eyed as I thought...

So I plan on using a space in the Lab about 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep. This will allow me to have a 6x6 section for a desk, chair and planted saltwater mangrove system ;)
Not only do I enjoy cannabis, my main hobby deals with marine life. I raise and propagate soft and stony corals and raise saltwater ornamental fish. So I plan on incorporating both of these passions into one small LAB.

The walls are going to be four inch thick on the two inside walls and fully sealed and insulated. The two outside walls are 6 inches thick and are already fully insulated. The lining of the inside of the room is going to be white textured FRP board. I like this material as it is moisture resistant and very easy to clean, plus the gloss white appearance will be bad ass in contrast to the lovely green plants and other decor.
I am going to use Luxury Vinyl Plank on the floor to give a modern birch appearance, this product is water proof, acid proof and super durable. I will keep the workspace bullshit out of the conversation until I can post pictures.

For lighting I have decided that I am going to give HO T5s a try I am going to invest in either the 12 or 16 bulb bad boy fixture. I think that this light will be great in this area, plus will reduce heat somewhat.

More details to come....

Well last night I was out of cured bud and really wanted a bowl. So I cut a small bud from the Little Goat Cheese. It was a small <1" buddlet from the underside of the plant. I just wanted to see how things are going.

I did not even care about taste or anything. I picked the bud, Ground it up and smoked it. Obviously it did not burn well and did not taste great......... but the overall sensation from it was wild. Kind of trippy. I did not want to move much or do anything. I allowed the remainder to dry overnight and this morning it is much more balanced. It still smokes weird, but the high is relaxing and sort of motivating.

I cant wait to get this stuff dried and cured.
