So I haven't been active in this forum for a while, because I did only one autoflower grow (nothing against them, I've just been trying out a bunch of other photo-period strains and have limited space), but I know this site has some of the most knowledgeable and trustworthy sources of cannabis information, so I want to pose a question to you, which no one really seems to know/is willing to answer.

What is the average maturation time from first seeing amber trichs to 50% amber trichs? I had a whole stupid conversation with some jerk on another site about it, and I just wanted to hear what you guys thought, since like I said, you seem to know your shit better than most. So what are your thoughts on this?

that's plenty helpful, i was just "scheduled" to chop this weekend, but they're only just turning amber now, so i was skeptical that they'd be ready by then, but who knows? last thing i want to do though is harvest early, so i'm going to keep checking the trichs...

and you're completely right about other forums. coming here felt like coming home!

also, random side note, where did the store go? i was always curious to try some jems out, but never got around to it...

According to Arthur Connell Clark in his fine work, Marijuana Botany, ambering is a protective response by the plant to protect it from UV light. So the higher the UV, the faster they should amber. That was an issue with the first LED grow lights, they had no UV, so some was added to later models. Outdoor plants always seem to show more amber than anything grown indoors, irregardless of the light source. My experience outdoors is the same as TBM. When I first spot some amber the plants usually have about 3 weeks or so till they are ready to harvest.
