Autopot air domes

You don't need air domes. The few growers I have seen try to see if they helped found that they did next to bugger all. Just more complexity, hoses, and stuff to screw up. I have yet to detect any root problems in grows that vary from 3 gallon fabric pots to totes full of >100 liters of soil. I've lost track of how many grows. IMHO, save your money for other more useful stuff.
Hey @Olderfart do you run a air pump in the main reservoir? i'm not running air domes but was planning on a air pump in the reservoir.

Nope, when indoors I just stir it once in a while, usually a couple times of day when I happen to be there to commune with the girls. Outdoors, the rez is pretty much on its own, I don't fuss with it.

I don't know whether an air stone would help. Others here have suspected that using one continuously can cause pH instability though, which is one reason why I have never bothered. As I recall, Cocoforcannabis recommends them, so I doubt that it would hurt to try as long as you watch the pH issue.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

Yup i definitely do and will be checking ph of rez daily. My theory with the air stone it mainly to keep solution mixed up. Kinda like you do with a spoon. Just I am not around the house all day everyday especially during the coming summer months.

p.s. I also will not be mixing nutes in rez. I will be mixing in separate tote and filling rez with that.

It doesn't really matter where you mix as long as you are careful. Worst case, you have to remove some from the rez to dilute down to your target EC. Best to turn off the irrigation while mixing though just to make sure that one of the girls does not drink before nutes are adjusted and pH'ed.

If stirring is what you need for the reservoir, that can also be done with a small pump, which if I set one up, would be on a timer for intermittent operation a few times a day.

I've personally have run Autopots for the past 4yrs. I did start out using the airdomes running the airpump at full power. But I then
removed the airdomes and between all the grows I've done with and without I see no difference in the amount of growth I achieved
running the airdomes. I think I've actually increased my yield in my grows without using the airdomes. So one less thing that is using
electricity.

You don't want to run an airstone in the res, Autopot doesn't recommend it and when I tried it just to see what it would do it caused ph drift so I found that using a Sicce Syncra Nano Circulation Pump or any small pump in the res for a few minutes every hour or so worked great to keep everything mixed up without any drift
