First time grower getting ready to switch over to the Rez and let the auto pots work their magic. Which leads me to wondering with the air dome and how high to have the Active Aqua air pump cranking. There’s quite the swing from a gentle bubble to a spitting roar. Any input is appreciated

Great question that I've been wondering about also! It's not required, but I believe this post is more suited for the autopots section. :pass:

@Mañ'O'Green or someone in @staff - do your stuff ... please! :pass:

Why is that if I may ask? I'm currently on the precipice of starting an Autopot grow and am in doubt if I need to invest into a suitable pump...
I don't think they really made any noticable difference with or without. Used them for a year with stones in them, pump still works... They also seem to draw the roots straight to them, so after the plants are done and I empty the pots, there's like no roots in the upper half of the pot but the air domes are packed and look like one of those shower sponge thingies the wife uses, so probably not ideal. And it can be a pain in the ass the deal with all the air lines if you take the plants out of the pots

I did an experiment last grow, (2nd grow using autopots). On my 1st grow I used the foamy things, but I didn't enlarge the holes, (like some suggest). 2nd grow I used airstones like these.

However, I used the foamy things on 1 pot, (with enlarged holes in the foam). At the end of the grow, the girl with the foamy things did much better overall! Plus her root system was better developed, especially around the air dome. Since I've lost a few of the foamy things, I'm going to run all 4 on air stones next run. I've also noticed that the check valves I've been using restrict a lot of the air flow. I recently purchased a rope plant hanger & I'm going to hang my pump off the floor & get rid of the check valves. This is the pump I use!

I'm just not sure how to know when I'm getting 1 liter of air? Is there an obvious answer that I'm not seeing? Someone help me out here? :vibe::pass:

You don't need air domes. The few growers I have seen try to see if they helped found that they did next to bugger all. Just more complexity, hoses, and stuff to screw up. I have yet to detect any root problems in grows that vary from 3 gallon fabric pots to totes full of >100 liters of soil. I've lost track of how many grows. IMHO, save your money for other more useful stuff.
