Hi there

Starting an Auto Ultimate today, just the one.
Tent;
80cm x 80cm x 160cm
Lights:
x 2 viparspectra 225w ufo leds. (Vegging)
I'm eyeing a 400w COB LED with CREE chips; will buy closer to flowering to help improve quality of buds from my last grow. They were good, but not great lower the canopy.
Medium:
20ltr rootnurse grow bag.
Bio-bizz light mix 20ltr
Perlite
A few clay balls
Air circulation:
X 2 six inch USB fans
Extraction:
Will not be using any to begin with but will add when flowering (I can leave the door open slighty and window for fresh air)
Will add some CO2 to help it a bit too
Nutrients:
Bio bizz nutes; applying the standard amount for autos (unless anyone has advice).
Water:
Once I begin watering cycle, will water once every 2 days.
Training:
Will be doing LST and pop a net inside

Any advice, tips or input is appreciated - fairly new still and always after advice

Cheers all!

Pictures to follow!

Im subbed mate :) i doubt you will need the CO2, its more for bigger grows [emoji106] i grew 3 plants in a 70x70 space with no ventilation only the door open and they turned out alright :) i got 2.5 ounces from 1 of them and 5 oz from all 3 :)

From what I've read citizen cobs are slightly more efficient than cree, so if your going for cobs check out cobshop.net :) great price and customised spectrum. Or if your in uk there's a guy on ebay that makes them and he's really helpful :) if you need anymore info let me know and I'll send you the link :)

Cheers mate.

I actually just grew three in the same set up under just the viparspectra lights and achieved close to 7Oz dry from 3 plants.

Cheers for the CO2 advice - was a mate who suggested it and at 50quid I'll Deffo take your advice

I've been researching into lights non stop. And I mean non stop. I was really disappointed with my last grow and I know it's because of the lights. The buds were massive and hard when under the lights; but shrunk loads after cropping..Although the tops of the colas directly under the light gave me really nice hard dense nugs - so I'm looking to achieve that all over.

So I was considering going back to hps, using a 250w hps with those small 4 inch plastic extraction kits (by Rhino or Kenley) which are supposed to be very quiet. Noise is an issue where I'm growing. I worked it out and I think 250w hps will be too hot.

So back to leds again haha

I have a budget. I'm actually a student right now after quitting my job 2 years ago and financed everything myself so far.. But the girlfriend doesn't want me spending all our savings. I'm looking to spend £150. Maybe a bit more if I sell my other lights.

The light im looking at is this;
400W Cree CXA3070 COB+lens

Looking forward to growing out this strain, it looks an absolute beast of a plant and I want a little monster. I actually germinated a seed last week but within 24hrs it had germinated so much it's first leaf appeared - but as it was in the tissue it didn't come out green and just wouldn't grow.

I'll get some pictures on and try to make this a little walk through for any novice growers looking to get decent results under budget.

Should be good!

70oz from 3 plants and you wasn't happy with that result?!? I wish i could pull that much lol

I have a feeling that, that light isn't all they make out it to be lol 400w from 2 cobs that are 100w each? It also looks like they are using the older version of the chips cri80 when they latest versions are cri90. Seems they are charging top price for cheaper components.
Check out cobshop.net they are spot on with quality and price :)

Just read it was 7oz haha silly me!

Have you thought about converting your viparspectra to cobs yourself? I'm gonna give it a go soon, its only cost me £30 to convert :)

70Oz, could you imagine.. Id be having a bath in it all right now lol!

I can't do DIY mate, plus my missus wouldn't trust anything I make in regards to pumping electricity through it haha

I'm leaving this thread hangling

The lights were great for veg - and now I'm only doing one I'll let them run under it for a while and try to get a bit more cash tucked up.

Appreciate you joining in on this thread mate, hopefully we can get it going and make it a good one.

Ive been all through cob shop. Net and learned a lot about lights. Id buy from there but with shipping etc it's getting very expensive. Will buy in future.

So say I Dont go for cobs - suggestions?

Also, as to nutrients - any difference in feeding plants from different breeders?

All plants are different even if they are from the same packet so i would suggest less is more to start with, that way you can see how your plant reacts to her feed :) start with a 3rd of the recommended dose and build it up so you dont burn her :)
