Hey people, First time on here and I'm so excited a real dedicated site for Auto's (ABOUT BLOODY TIME, AWESOME!)

I'm having problems with getting my harvest at the right time. I keep getting no amber on my bud. I've grown a few ladies now and have had the same problem each time. I get good looking bud, but with hardly any smell to it what so ever. It gives just a mild head high only, no body stone at all.

My set up;

Soil grow using playgron nuits and molasses

1 plant; Snowstorm Auto in a small area less than 1m2

really good airflow, temp stays in the late 20's and doesent drop below low 20's at night.

Under 400hps and 400w cfl's together at same time. I have a 3 hour warm up with just cfls then turn on hps for 12 hours then 3 hours warm down on just cfl's again.

My baby at the moment is in bud with the pystols/hairs about 1/3rd turned orange, with some cloudy trychromes only.

Whats the problem? I need to find why my bud is never strong smell or smoke any help would be greatly welcomed.

Hay dude welcome to AFN, how old are your girls. Most seed companies say there plants will be ready in 60 days when it's more like 70 to 75 days.

Sounds like a genetic problem . Some auto's are ruderalis dominant which can include unwanted low thc production traits.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this statement. All autos contain a percentage of ruderalis, with the exception of super autos. While ruderalis itself contains little THC, all of today's strains have been bred for higher THC content.

you are probally harvesting way to soon. and try to get and overdrive product to help finish them and maybe set them in the dark for a day or two

You can only speak for yourself not the seed companies that rip people off with unstables!

There was one crossing with ruderalis waaaaay back in the day. Ever since the first cross with ruderalis, they have been bred with nothing but potent plants. People don't still breed with ruderalis, so NONE of out modern autoflowers have ruderalis in them. The first crossing between photoperiod and ruderalis was 50%/50%. Next crossing to photoperiod makes it 25% ruderalis. NExt Crossing back to photoperiod is 12.5% ruderalis. Next crossing back is only 6.25% ruderalis. See how this goes? Aside from stitch breeding to hungarian ditch weed, NO MODERN AUTO LINE has been crossed to pure ruderalis for more than 15 generations. We can effectively say that these plants are 0% ruderalis. The only gene that still remains from ruderalis is autoflowering, with all the bud formation, flavor and potency genes coming STRICTLY from their pedigree of photoperiods. Like I said, there was one ruderalis crossing in the 70s and Neville worked with them a little bit in the 80s. Eventually mexi rudy got to Joint doctor and he bred Lowryder 1, which was only 12.5% ruderalis. Lowryder 2 is 6.25% ruderalis. Any 2nd generation autoflowers that received their gene from this line (NOT by crossing to wild ditch weed) are only between 0.75% and 3% ruderalis. Many modern Autos are 3 or 4 generations removed from Lowryder #2! Which basically means 0% ruderalis for all purposes.

Its the same as saying my great-great-great grandmother was Cherokee, but ever since then the whole family has been white (true story). I'm white as can be - the native american is so far back in my lineage that I don't have straight black hair, darker skin, squarer jaw or anything from the tiny bit of native american in my genes.

What this means is that the only trait from ruderalis that remains is the autoflowering. all the bud formation genes, flavor genes, and potency genes are replaced by photoperiod genes.

Scientia est potentia! Im not familiar with hungarian ditchweed but if anyone is I will be interested to hear from them. All hail the lowryder

Ready or not?

Thanx everyone, my fan leaves have been yellow for a while now, well the lower ones anyway as Ive got a flat bed of bud like the see of green idea but just from LST. heres a few pics
