the putty is nice stuff if you need to have something set fast, otherwise I'm with @R3dt34rz that you should use the two step. I know people who have used JB weld to fix crank cases and it lasts for years.

They are about 6" from the light with no adverse effects, this I think is down to the silicon in the canna nutes. The regular res changes have eliminated the minor niggles I had last time.
